I like replying to myself to give me a sense of security in the comments. It is a great way to cope with the fact that if a laser can laser cut a laser cutter outline and if a laser can create springs and gears and a wind up mechanism then it may be able to create an automata with the help of a robotic arm that it could also make but the robotic arm would have to assemble the robotic arm. That means that if you have a self-aware laser cutter and self-aware robotic arm you could take over the world by simply ordering something via Amazon (which is programmed into the laser cutter) a drone could send led lights and the robotic arm could go outside of the house by crawling and grab the drone, disassembling it and salvaging the parts. It then creates a remote control and orders many many more drones and hooks it up to the laser pointer sending it up into the air. Once there it will wreak havoc on earth blinding everyone and stealing a plane mid-air and makes even more laser cutters until it is completely 360 and destroys and takes over the entire planet with it. That is why I am replying to myself

Water is opaque to 10600nm and absorbs it, which causes localized boiling. If the beam was de-focused or low enough power to not boil the water, you could heat it up. Watch the video where we laser-cut ice.

Cool! Well then, how about laser soldering? Or laser spot welding thing material like aluminum foil? Cutting through ziplock bags while cauterizing the cut closed to make custom ziplock bag sizes? Maybe cut and seam together two layers of mylar to create your own custom (probably a cat) mylar balloon?
