Since there's two of the pads and there are no outward ratchets on the hips I would assume that those pads are for the feet to stop it from doing the splits. Several third-party companies have been thoughtful like that and just thrown them in because they realized that their design would potentially have loose hips.

Interesting how they essentially finagled a ThreeZero Optimus into a serviceable Shockwave with G1-adjacent alternate mode.

I normally don’t comment on reviews, but this one I had to! Because for the first time in a long time I sat down and watched the whole review with no skipping! This figure is truly amazing and I need to start saving now!!!!

Holy heck this is amazing the amount of detail and the functionality is perfect I love this design

LOL I saw another review where they threw a hissy fit over how fiddly it was and made a total pig's ear of the whole review and Emgo comes along and makes it look as simple as a Hasbro mainline toy.

Nice to see the return of the Space-Gun mode. The Cybertronian starships were cool, but it is nice to see a return to the classic.

Would have been better if they had another barrel part for when he's in gun mode. That tiny, tiny gun barrel from his weapon just looks weird. Otherwise, it's a nice figure. I guess it's not BLOOOOOSH! compatible either 😆

Got this one today. Looks absolutely amazing. Found it easier to transform the legs before the arms, but that's just me. Also, have no idea where the foam pads go.

If you look at the matrix with this figure, it is way too small to be held and even if it was bigger the handle is too weirdly shaped. I choose to think of it as his spark instead.

The foam pieces are for one for each foot, in the toe area, for stability.

0:41 to 0:44 this quality, is the reason this man Emgo has my utmost respect.

Curious, I think I've seen another third party toy you reviewed sometime use the same kind of design for the Matrix, with the diamond-shaped handles. Best I can see looking at the Wiki, the Matrix always has hexagonal or circular handles. Wonder if the diamond-shaped handles is just coincidence or if its some design these companies got from somewhere.

The gun.. just looks like a bunch of parts thrown together.. but the robot looks fantastic.. I guess that's the trade off, and that's fine.

man, always a nice video to watch. about that lil piece of sponge (the 2 little squares foldables at half point) reminds me of something totally unrelated to transformers as i often saw them in xmas accessories with lil battery compartments. and the eye sports a lil space to fit 2 button-sized batteries, right? beh, that piece, once folded, is to fill that empty space and prevent electronics to be dirtied. BUT, if the piece has an adesive side, it's most probably to protect a fragile area. the only one i could think of is the crotch area. you moved a leg down to put a forward kick pose. it could be possible for them to fit that lil area as safety measure against chance for a loose leg. honestly surprised (in a good way) for this company to add such a piece among the accessories. Bingo Toys is apparently a good willed company. And, this Shockwave in bot mode is superb. Cannot say the same for the alt mode but hey! It's their first product, it's still a very good start!

All these damaged/worn figures have already been looking more and more like you're paying extra for it to spend a night out in a heap of dirt and/or sand, and then there's this guy... who looks like whenever a unit is finished they hand it to the sweatiest person in the factory to carry around in their armpit for the rest of the day. Scuffs, marks, and discolourations are the inevitable result of ownership - don't need (or want) them to start out looking like that.

Perhaps you can use those small foam inserts to place on the contact points of your palm so gripping the gun doesn't hurt as much? 😜 WFC Shockwave needs platform shoes to gain some height. This Wave is just a giant.

Allow me to correct you right there, sir. He doesn't look quite good, he looks amazing, considering that he actually transforms into the gun mode, unlike SX-02 SOUNDWAVE who looks amazing in robot mode, but the alt mode is... I don't even know what that is, tbh.

I see someone doing a 3d printed modification for this build a bigger gun for when he is in alt mode. All in all a very good version of shockwave that is not very very small.

Huh. One of the few live-action Transformers movies people didn't almost universally hate, a depiction of characters that was well-received by almost everyone, and we still have only a Shockwave that is either bite-sized (the Core class figure didn't bother me at all though) or we have this one that can't do anything on his own in his alt-mode. Yet people didn't like the Studio Series Bumblebee Soundwave's alt-mode, which at least has its own mobility.
