Binions was the very first casino I gambled in, 39 yrs ago. You could drive on Fremont and the million dollars photo op was hanging in the center of a large horseshoe.
20 years ago they took the million dollars down at the Lucky Horseshoe. I wanted a picture by it, for All my million dollar memories. I was told, they had bigger return, investment plans for that kinda cash...Glad its back hanging out, for All to see.
Thanks for the Binion's walk-through. I stayed there literally dozens of times throughout the late 1990s and 2000s. Usually I'd get a balcony room on the 21st or 22nd floor. I loved going UP to the pool to sweat/chill off my hangover. By the way... the guy in the elevator was nice but not 100% accurate. I know the Apache side was closed prior to 2009 but it certainly wasn't 30-40 years. I'm 48 and that side of the hotel was open several times while I was staying there. Biggest slot win was the one I'm not sure of... La Bayou... so full of Everclear-infused yard slushy drinks that I can't remember... BUT... I do remember cashing out in the $900 range at least 6 times to avoid the taxes and the machine just kept paying. It was right out front so I think they actually liked my winning as it was a weird kind of advertising. Anyway, I vaguely recall security helping me "find" my way back to Binion's elevators. I know I woke up around noon the next day with over $5000 in my pocket... and on the floor... and in the bed... I haven't drank in years but that was a fun night... as far as I know. Anyway, thanks for another great video!
Thank you for taking us along. Gosh! Has it been that long? Glad someone is breathing new life in to this L.V. downtown gem. I remember The Mint. We go waaaaaay back to the 60s.
Yes it's still a spooky place. The downstairs that you said was Banquet rooms used to have a big coffee shop that in the 90s had a super New York steak dinner graveyard special for two dollars. The line would que all the way the stairs to the casino floor. I play at Binions and will probably stay at the Apache rooms. I did stay in the Mint rooms in the 90s. They were spooky then. They closed them in 2009. I cant imagine staying on those floors in the Mint section just 10 years ago.
Awesome! I always go to Binions when I come to Vegas. I miss the old Deli counter by the poker room, you used to be able to get some great sandwiches from it.
Love the $5 tables downtown! Binion's has never let me down. The duration of time you can play off a small amount far exceeds many of the neighboring strip properties. Love Fremont! DTLV forever!
At 10:00 when you pan the camera and ask "Is that the haunted place?" I believe that is the staircase down to the old Horseshoe wood paneled bar. Unlike the rough and rowdy cowboy bar on the main floor, this bar had a more elegant ambiance and character. In the old days as you descended the stairs you would have noticed the old Binions Horseshoe Cafe Restaurant on your right. Every night at 10 pm there was a long line of customers on that staircase because Binions used to offer a complete steak dinner in the cafe for only $2! I once ran $300 to over $3,000 on my roll at an old Binions craps table. Thanks for the memories your wonderful video brought me.
Binions was my Fav place to play years ago. Back then some tables were in front and you could play and watch people walking on the street from there. They had really Friendly Dealers & Pit Bosses and I knew several of them and they knew me from going there 2X a year for 15 years. I'm not doing the all day flying ordeal from back east here anymore. I can drive to AC in my own comfort in 3hrs flat. AC ain't LV but it'll do.
Binions is my favorite place to gamble ANYWHERE in Vegas. I always either win or come out even when leaving Binions. Even if Im staying at the other end of the strip, always gotta make time for a Binions trip for a few hours
Great video! I felt like I was there, makes me nostalgic! Thanks for sharing 😊 oh my biggest win was $1,170 on a Double/Triple 7s quarter slot at Pala in San Diego , 75 cent bet 👍🏻
You guys are my favorite VEGAS bloggers. I love that place and it makes me want to go back when I see you guys wandering around. I lost my ass in April at the Mirage so it will take a lot to bring me back again this Christmas. Colin is so funny....I can see him swinging the camera over to the scantly clad ladies. Those rooms that were not being used for over 40 years would creep me out if I stayed in one.
Thanks for going upstairs!! I place my bets there for years and have never been up the escalator & now I dont have to because of this vid!!....FYI where you guys came in at the back area there was a FREE Elvis Museum a couple years ago with lots of displays & one in particular was Really cool wt his Gold Plated .380 Semi Auto.
I like the smaller casinos. Most money won in a slot was $73 and some change at a casino in Iowa. Paid for our RV parking and my visit to the gift shop and a couple of meals.
I heard years ago that the cost of Asbestos removal on the Mint tower rooms was not practical for the time but now with the new tower going up at the Fremont and the new Circa Resort I think its time. l
I’m glad I’m not driving home to LA on the Interstate 15. Lots of traffic and accidents. Circa would be a great place to stay since it’s right on the “trashy” Fremont Street. Sorry, I can’t resist saying that. Seems like two Las Vegas. The Strip and the Downtown. There’s definitely a revival in the Downtown area. 10 years to retirement. Then, LV is my waiting room. Kidding.
I've had two $2,500 handpays and a $1,250 handpay, all on Wheel Of Fortune. The $1,250 and one of the $2,500's was on a $5 machine at $15 max bet, the other $2,500 on a $25 machine at $50 max bet.
The tower you went up to see the pool has been closed since 2009. Only the pool is available to the public. You can use this pool if your staying at Four Queens.
Just went to Fremont on Tuesday. Had dinner at Triple 7 first then walked to Fremont and enjoyed the concerts. Only place on Fremont I've never gone in was the Plaza.
Hey guys! Love the video! That’s so crazy that they haven’t opened some of the hotel rooms in like 30 years!.....Is the poker room at Binions closed during the remodel? I saw the poker tables in your video, but it didn’t look like anyone was playing at them.
Thanks for showing us .... very interesting... I will be in Las Vegas in two weeks...!!! The most I ever won was 20 years ago $1,000 in double balloon bars when it was coin in slot machines!!
hey Erica! they are opening a new casino on june 23 in Everett Massachusetts just 10 minutes from BOSTON. it's the wynn/ encore. have you ever been to BOSTON? be cool to see you guys visit.
Last year I was able to sneak down to the floor right below the bar and there were several suites that were open that you could go into. It was like walking back in time so awesome! I have pictures if you want them
At 4:45 That finger print is now in a Federal database. Your every move in Vegas is now being monitored! Well, so is everyone else that walks into a Casino Hotel...
Binions is trying to make a comeback. Ever since was sold by Caesars/Harrahs Group when it was a "Horseshoe", it went downhill bad. They are trying. It was much better this year than last year I was there in Feb for Superbowl weekend.
Nice vlog, Erica. Glad to see they are doing something at Binion's. I don't play there much because the table games are among, if not THE, worst downtown , yet I still have an affinity for it. Best slot win was around $600, give or take $30, on Heidi's Bierhaus at Golden Gate last year. Don't think I have ever topped $400 any other time.
I was surprised at the amount of activity I saw at Binion's when I was there last week. I'm sure they're getting ready for the additional competition coming from Circa. Binion's is a fun place to visit though - thanks for the walkthrough! Best slot win was $2k at The D on Bonus Times in high limit (it's gone now); was playing $50 each with a friend and we hit multipliers on a line hit.
That little restaurant inside has a great menu for cheap eats. Awesome hamburgers and breakfast! My husbands uncle won on the Buffalo Stampede machine there! 💰
Most I've ever won on a slot was 860 bucks on Dublin Diamonds with the hot hot super jackpot...35 cents bet. I spun around 10 times and hit it. I've never had a hand pay anywhere. :(
I when I lived in vegas 1973 to 1989 Binions and mint were my favorite casinos. Binions downstairs Montana steak room rest. Was awesome. Best steaks!! Back in the day when you could drive down Fremont street in your 700 horsepower hot rods. Piss on that covered Fremont street now!!!
Hey Erika, we saw Craig at the Cosmo, Secret Pizza, I think it was end of January. Awesome pizza!!! We saw, but we did not say Hi or introduce ourselves, guess we should have. Watch you guys all the time. We were at Binions a week after you were LOL. Would love to meet you and say Howdy.
I totally saw you guys outside Vic and Anthony’s steakhouse in the golden nugget the night you filmed this! I wanted to say hi and tell you I loved you Chanel but was to shy! 🤗
Not been in Binnions much but I had my biggest win in vegas there, $293, the only problem was that my biggest loss was also $293. They got all their money back on the next slot I played.
Not yet. Last night, about 3AM, it was much too cool for shorts. Daytime is still quite comfortable. That'll change in a few more weeks, with July and August being when you definitely want to spend most of your time in the casino AC. That's when even the late night owls will be wearing shorts.
Greg i live in the area. I would suggest looking into the Henderson area off Boulder hwy. Henderson is the safest and most affordable place to rent or own a home. Or the summerlin side of Vegas. Lots of options here and very nice neighborhoods on either side of the metropolitan area.
@@ericabrowning5027 A lot of people do. Just because 6 is higher than 3. But you HAVE to remember, if you bet $10 you only make $12 on your Blackjack v. $15. Since you will make about 4 Blackjacks per hour of play, that's giving them and extra $12/hour just to sit there and play. Do you want to pay the casino "rent" for playing a game they already have the advantage at? LOL
I would vote the the GN,Downtown Grand and the Plaza. On the strip? Many choices! Some are "TOPTIONAL." There is an admission charge. No cameras allowed.
However, table games suck from what they were. They used to be known for giving a good game. Now All BJ 6-5 and I miss the old bar and .99 shrimp cocktail LOL Tells you how many years I have come to this place.
Several years ago, after I spent the entire afternoon in Binion's casino, on the way out of the parking deck they charged me $4.50 for parking. The validated parking voucher was good for only two hours. That $4.50 was the last money I spent in downtown Las Vegas. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression--or a last one. Go ahead, call me a cheap b_______. Feel better now?
Business idea.....If you guys go travel t take a break from Vegas, do some casinos around the country. If you're in Maryland, I will buy you a beer! Also, 750 at Caesar's on a Magnifying Jackpot just recently before going to EDC.
In 1986 I was in Binions playing Roulette with a friends. I had to go to the bathroom. This guy comes in stand at the urinal next to me and out the blue says hi how are you . Im like good and you he replied great, I went back to the table and my buddy went to the bathroom. He comes back and says hey didn't you see all those girl's when you came out. I said yea. He said that was John Bon Jovie! Yes I can say I peeded next to Bon Jovie. Only in Vegas!
