early 2010s is one of my favorites era of music, especially japanese music you got kinoko teikoku, shinsei kamattechan, soutaiseiriron, the hiatus, my dead girlfriend to name a few. all of their release that era are still one of my favorites ever.
Kinoko Teikoku was the band that drove me to get out of my comfort zone and start to listen to more music. Almost 5 years have passed and Uzu ni Naru, Eureka and Long Goodbye are still in my quintessential albums, love them so much.

I miss back in middle school when I’d find new music like this and it felt like everything clicked, even for just a night. Kinoko Teikoko led me down such a rabbit hole
i found this video about a year and half ago and it started me down my shoegaze rabbit hole. Thank you for this video it introduced me to shoegaze and started my journey into so much great music.
This honestly means a lot to me. At the time I was just making a silly meme but I'll occasionally get comments talking about how they discovered this band/genre etc. from this vid and it always makes my day. I'm glad my dumb shitpost helped you discover something new. Kinoko Teikoku's music, and other bands like them, have had a huge impact on my life and I'm stoked I somehow managed to spread some of that passion to new people. Thanks for sharing this with me, genuinely. Makes me proud, silly as that may seem over a low effort meme lol.
@@davidhinostroza9420 luminous orange, hitsujibungaku, mass of the fermenting dregs, tokyo shoegazer, coaltar of the deepers, for tracy hyde, hartfield. or you can also listen to cocteau twins
@@goodwillhumping7904 props to you for naming Hartfield! That band is so underrated, for me it's definitely top 5 japanese shoegaze. They have a very peculiar ethereal/nostalgic vibe, similar to loveless. Also the fact that not every track is on youtube makes them not popular at all... So sad
Wow thanks to enjoying many different versions of this meme I found a new band I"m going to fall in love with, this song is beautiful. Edit: nvm I know this album, I've heard songs from this album before
So happy this popped up on my recommended videos! I’ll definitely check out their other songs. Thanks for sharing:) Yall got any other Japanese Shoegaze recommendations?
I'm gonna list a few bands, not all of them specifically shoegaze, but if you like this you should check them out! Yuragi (one of my favorites) Mass of the fermenting dregs My dead girlfriend Number girl (don't personally love them but they're well regarded so maybe give them a try) Tokyo shoegazer Seventeen years old and Berlin wall There are plenty of others, you can check out this playlist of mine on spotify if you want to see some more open.spotify.com/playlist/2Nb7bfGIBLnmQfQvIOrena?si=Sr90QlRcQbC23bPKtHkL5A
Honestly there's alot of japanese bands like this FISHMANS, Tokyo Shoegazer, that's why I prefer Coaltar of the Deepers they don't have 20mins of the same chord over and over again.
I used to listen shoegaze with my ex haha i never liked it, he listened slowdive but then i found JaPanese shoegaze and fall in love, i hate you slowdive, and also my ex, you both ruin my life and now i have depression >:(
