Thank you! I have been using a Revlon curling iron for years and thought I was just terrible at curling my hair! 🙈🤣Just ordered the BABYliss and I'm so excited to try it out! This video was cute and super informative!
I loooove your honesty about products and your so helpful and not in a judgey way and you put stuff in simple terms for women that feel like they don’t know much about hair thank you so much
Thanks so much for these comparisons! I’m trying to decide between the Bio Ionic and the Babyliss. This will be my first curling iron (!) so I’m very much a beginner. However, I have pretty long hair and want something that will be easy to use. Which would you recommend?
In cosmetology school now and I'm highly appreciative of the information on coated vs uncoated barrels! I had no idea, kind of mad I didn't receive this info elsewhere. Marcel hurt my hands! Ergonomical my butt!
I would love a video on flat irons! I recently bought the babyliss prima from sally beauty that had irons on the outside to make curling easier and I hated it. The irons didn’t clamp down all the way. My old/current iron is Rusk which is like 10 years old so it is a trooper.
I’m trying to decide between the bio ionic and a t3 curling iron. My concerns are less heat damage and want the one that makes my curls last the longest.
Watching your video I think the babyliss curls are the prettiest although the glide on the bio ionic looks easy , the curls are so pretty on the babyliss
This review really helped with a Christmas gift this year. It answered a lot of my questions too regarding titanium, ceramic, marcel.............so thank you.
I purchased a curling iron from Amazon. Its turminline. 25$ and it was horrible. The curls went flat in an hr. So I ordered the Nano one you recommended and it was double the price. However it is the real deal. Curls lasted absolutely the way I wanted them tourmaline is a no no no no. Waste of money. It was pretty. However, it just didnt do the job. Yay to the Nano. Thank you so much.
You convinced me with the babyliss after searching around for the best curling iron!! How do I get one of your coupon code like mentioned in the previous comments to be able to purchase? 😊🙂😊
@@JessHallock Please please leet me know which one of these leaves the hair feeling the most healthiest (does the least damage) babyliss one or bioionic one or the kristen ess one?? Please rank in order
Hi jess! I have the babyliss and I can’t seem to get it to hold a curl for me!! What heat setting should I have it on? What do you keep yours on? I’m worried about it damaging my hair! I noticed it gets up to 450!!
I honestly put mine up to the highest setting! I just never hold it longer than 2 seconds in my hair I just keep clicking through it and it holds great! But I always prep with a lightweight dry shampoo !
It’s very different! I like the bio ionic but my curls definitely loosen more over time. I also got a bigger barrel though so that could be why. To clarify at this point I only use my bio ionic. :)
Jess Hallock I have the bio ionic curling iron that you are using. I do love it, but my hair- even with product- still doesn’t hold a curl for long with it. Maybe it’s the humidity here in the south.
Hi Jess! I'm a new subscriber! I just love your tutorials! You explain everything so clearly! My hair is thin and I always want volume! You're such a doll! Going to try the Unite products! And the babybliss pro. I've learned so much from you!! XOXO 😘❤❤❤ THANK YOU!!!
Is chi bad for you hair? I got a chi in January and I thought my recent breakage was due to my blonde hair? But I’ve never had bad breakage. I always heard chi was so good for your hair. Can you do a video on your thoughts and opinions about chi curling irons? ☺️☺️
Is titanium bad for thin hair? I’ve heard horror stories that people have burned their hair off with titanium. Maybe they just had it too hot. What heat setting do you use on the Babyliss?
Help!! I need some clarification!! You said the Bio Ionic one was a titanium curler but when I went to go purchase it, every single website I looked at is saying is a ceramic curling iron. So is it actually ceramic?
Jess Hallock no wonder I was confused too! LOL 😂. So then is ceramic better than titanium? Just wanna be clear cuz I’m thinking of buying the bio ionic one but I wanna make sure it gets hot and is smooth and glides good.
Had a good chuckle when you said you grew up on Conair and then to toss Hot Tools... I grew up on Hot Tools because I got my mom’s hand me downs from beauty school. 😅
Alright, I’ve been looking at the Babyliss pro curling irons for about a week-ish now, just not sure which size to get between 1 1/4 and 1 1/2, my hair is a few inches shorter than yours I’d say. And I think you just sold me on it!! Next pay check I’ll buy one hahah! Thank you for reviewing and demo! Great video!!!
I’m debating returning the Bio Ionic. I hate where the temp controls are. I ALWAYS hit them and it just takes a little bump to adjust temps up and down. The power you have to hold down and I feel like the temp should be the same. I don’t love the look of the curl it gives but I’m old school, ha!
I've just recently decided that I need to start taking better care of my hair & I never knew curling could look so great! Sad thing is & I feel like crying, the Babyliss goes for like $1200 in my country so I'll have to stick with my conair curling iron for awhile 😔
i have the same conair one as the one in this vid and i got it bc i heard titanium barrels were better for thick hair that doesn’t hold a curl as well. but this conair iron still doesn’t hold the curl at all like i want it to so i’m thinking the titanium with a matte coating would give me better results? it hurts me a little to spend $50 on a curling iron but i think i’m going to give the babyliss one a try and PRAY that it works well for the price. 😂🤞🏼
If you had long hair or extensions, would the bio ionic be your first choice? I just ordered one because I struggle because my extensions are so long! :(
I have fine thin shoulder length hair that does not hold a curl at all... Just bought the Kristen Ess because it was 50% off, but first use not really impressed with hold. My hair is pretty dirty so I was going to give it another shot. Now watching this I think maybe I'll get the Babyliss Pro instead... What size do you think for extra hold? 3/4 or 1 inch?
I wanted to get a Babyliss one and also looked at Hot Tools. I wanted mid-grade but not $100+.. I have a 1 inch, but want a 1.25 inch. I’ve read reviews on those two where people posted pics on Amazon saying their hair was “burned off.” Do you think they’re just leaving it on too long or using too much heat? This has never happened to me with any other curling irons, but I have color-treated fine hair so it makes me iffy on what to get! Just wanted to get your opinion.
I have always used this curling iron and it has never been an issue. It does get pretty hot so I would just recommend starting at a lower heat setting until you get comfortable!
I'm looking for curling irons and I'm between the Babyliss and the ones of HotTools do you know which one should I get? And if you know if the HotTools are a great curling irons?
I’ve been curing my hair (same way) for years using the Babyliss. I use heat protectant, I use good salon products and all of a sudden over the last 7 or 8 months my high lift blonde hair has been breaking. And my stylist and I, cannot figure out why. The ONLY change is that a year ago I got the Dyson hair dryer for Christmas. I use it on the lower heat and low blow strength. We are now thinking it might be the Dyson which is depressing because that is an expensive dryer and is supposed to be the best for your hair. But seriously, my hair looks like straw. So I don’t know if it’s the curling or the Dyson or some other thing. Have you heard anyone having this issue with the Dyson?
Ya know my honest opinion is ... it’s not the Dyson or the babyliss... if your hair texture has done a 180 and is all of a sudden dry and brittle then I would get your bloodwork done because you could be somewhat iron deficient or have a hormonal imbalance? I know my clients that go through trama or have a stressful year that their hair will literally freak out and completely change while they are in a stressful state and then go back to normal a few months after it has passed! Basically what I’m saying is that I have found that it is usually an “inside out” issue :)
Jess Hallock Is was randomly watching a video from Glam Belle(or Belle Glam) and the tag was something like why I’ll never use Deva Curl again and I realized that the OTHER thing that had changed was that I was using the Deva curl mouse and cream mousse for about 7 months. Her video (and all the comments) said that Deva Curl had caused scalp irritation (as it did my hair), and thinning and hair loss and broken hair. So I’m wondering if it was this all along. I did actually abruptly stop my hormones for about a month and then after getting 10 hot flashes a day went back on them so this also could have contributed to the worsening of this for sure.
So I tried the Babyliss..didn't care for it bc for me the barrel is so short, wanted to try the Bio iconic but even with your link, it's not $80-100 its $140.. sheeeshhh
I have long hair (almost mid back) and I can't use a 1 1/4 because the curls fall out right away and are super loose. I have very fine hair but a ton of it that is balyaged. I use a 1 inch and hold it for just a few seconds then pull on the curl once I've released it. This gives me looser curls that actually stay. 🙂 everyone's hair is different though so try both and see what you prefer!
Hi Jess! i am writing to you from Italy. You made me fall in love with this wonderful iron babyliss pro. But I cannot buy it because the voltage is not for Italy, where the current is 220 volts. I ask you if you know anyone who uses it without problems here in Italy or if there is a universal voltage version. Thank you so much
Also, I just ordered the Babyliss. Maybe that's what's wrong with my hair, I'm using the wrong iron!! Didn't know matte vs shiny.....I wish you were my hairstylist !!!!!
Thank you for this video! I have been doing research for 3 days solid for the best curling iron and there are so many reviews and opinions I change my mind so often. Babyliss is already bought and I love it! Now it’s between T3 and bio ionic extended barrels for long thick curly hair. Help!
You have to be careful no matter what tool you are using to not be excessive but the only tool I definitely do not like is the flat iron… But I love curling irons :-)
For salon use do your prefer to use titanium over ceramic why? Also for personal use which do you prefer and why also. That’s for any feedback you can give me :)
I personally love Titanium more... to be honest the more I’m reading about them I’m realizing almost all of them have a ceramic coating which is that “matte finish” coating. So I like the titanium with ceramic coating because it gets the hottest and heats the most evenly!
Do you know WHY some irons make curls last longer? If you're not just turning it up hotter, there must be something scientifically different about them. I would love to know why.
It not necessarily is the iron, if a curl is not holding I would recommend a heat protectant/volume product so the curl has something to hold onto. One of my personal favorites is the Kevin Murphy Heated Defense! :)
