This system is simply incredible! The mosquitos love the CO2. Im going to let the bag fill up before I change it out. Can you post a video how you change out your bag? Does it matter if leaves get into the trap?
Thanks for this video- looking to get the biogents Mosquitaire CO2 trap and the GAT trap. Found your videos and was wondering if you still are using the traps (I saw you had both) and how they are holding up. How would you characterize your mosquito experience before using the traps, one year after, and if you’re still using them, five years later? Do you barely get bit when you go outside now? Thanks!
I just got mine and set it up. Finding that the valve lid is so tight that it wont toggle open when the fan is on. I checked to make sure i have the suction funnel on correctly and it is. I had to use a rock to sort of "prop open" the valve. I didnt check to see if it can be loosened. The moment I brought it out the scent was attracting the mosquitos right away!!! Hoping it works for me as it is miserable to sit in my back yard! Thanks for the vid!
I can't say for sure but I like that it clicks into the mosquito trap which makes sure the CO2 is just above the trap and helps keep the mosquitos in the right place to get sucked in. If I just used a hose I would need to tie it on somehow. But who knows if it really helps.
Hey. Great videos, thanks! I was researching various machines available in Europe for the last week, finally decided on the one you have. One with CO2, will probably order a few more regular ones, and then just hook up the tube from central co2 tank to all of them. I am interested in the valves you are using. I tried gardena style 1/4" valve for watering garden (micro drip system) and I think it will work, but its really hard to regulate flow (as it is made for water). Your valves look metalic and much more robust and I guess also precise. Which is a must have when one connects 3-4 devices to one tube. On the co2 regulator - what is the flow you use? 0,5kg/day per device, meaning if you have 4, thats 2kg/day? thanks
I am using Pneumatic valves that are normally used for air bags in commercial trucks. They are 1/4" outside diameter tubing that is stainless steel and plastic but I like that is is super accurate to adjust. (smile.amazon.com/dp/B00H3Q7OQW/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_zq1vFbHYC6K54) but in Europe you may want to look at a 6mm tubing used for trucks. As far as the kg/day I found that just counting the bubble rate in a glass was the most accurate way to adjust flow rate. U use the standard flow rate specified on the Biogents valve and then make my precise adjustments at the local valve based of bubble rate.
Sorry to hear that. Honestly, the simplest system is to just buy a thermacell backpacker and a small camp fuel cell and some thermacell mats. Its cheep easy and not as complex as the Biogents system.
@@postbeam8200 Like most insecticides, Allethrin (a pyrethoid and the active ingredient in thermacell) has not been extensively studied. Like most companies who sell chemical repellents, they arent forthcoming with the information and probably just call it good to go. The fact that it's toxic to cats and bees is enough for me to not use thermacell.
@@postbeam8200 Sorry about mike vs mic. Did you review the video? The sound starts off okay but then it drops off a lot. It seriously detracts from quality of what otherwise is a fine video. This is simply an FYI. Thank you for your reviews.
