The ROTARY DRUM DRYER is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimize the liquid moisture content of the material it is handling by bringing it into direct contact with a heated gas.
ROTARY DRUM DRYER work by tumbling material in a rotating drum in the presence of a drying air. They can also be indirectly heated to avoid direct contact between the material and processing medium. The drum is positioned at a slight horizontal slope to allow gravity to assist in moving material through the drum.
The drum body of the ROTARY DRUM DRYER is heated on the inside by steam. Depending on the design of the drum dryer, the product is applied continuously as a thin film on the underside or top of the main drum. As the drum turns and is heated on the inside, the product dries on the outside of the drum dryer.
