Thank you for this very insightful video of your visit to the iconic and phenomenal legend that is Biondi-Santi in Montalcino. I enjoyed all the information and interesting details you presented about their wines and vineyards, terroir and climate, and new investments in wine production, plus your recommended vintages and, of course, your incredible tasting experience in this Brunello paradise. Looking forward to your Brunello posts on IG! Cheers!🍷
Thank you for this outstanding overview on the legendary Biondi-Santi wines. Appreciate your insights on the different wines they produce. Sounds like you had an epic visit. It was nice traveling to Italy vicariously through your reportage. Cheers, John.
Cheers Gina! Thanks so much for watching and your thoughtful feedback. Very pleased you enjoyed it. The outstanding wines were exceeded only by Biondi-Santi's gracious hospitality.
Attorney Somm, thanks a lot for this one. Nice history there, mate. I am big fan of Biondi Santi.. got a case of the 2015, 1955 and 2012. I think the 2012 was the last vintage he produced, wasn’t it. In any case, I love a Biondi Santi with my steak. While I chew I inhale the aromas, love the licorice and plethora of herbs. Thanks again, mate. I am sure you enjoyed your trip there. I hope you bring back some outstanding bottles though. Nice one.
what a fantastic wine from biondi santi, have a few bottles stored away from 2016/17 and 2001, 2001 is superb imo, greetings from amsterdam the netherlands
A good introduction to a fine winery. I was fortunate to pay them a visit when I was driving in the region a few years back. A beautiful part of the world. I find the wines from Tuscany and Umbria really work well with the strong flavoured foods of the area and benefit with food pairing rather than drunk alone. However, with wine as good as this I'll drink it solo all day long too. Well done for mentioning ageing because I recently opened a fine Spanish red from a good vintage and, horror of horrors, it had peaked and was going downhill. I think there can be a temptation to keep wines such as Biondi-Santi for too long.
Thanks very much for your thoughtful feedback. Very glad you enjoyed the video! Very true. Always better to open wines too early than too late in my view. I enjoy these wines on their own as well. Cheers! 👍🍷
Yes, that is one reason I did this video - so people could see it and get a feel for it. While certainly not as good as an in-person visit, I hope it was useful.
Hello! I’m Frank I found this Biondi Santi Annata Brunello 2011 - 2012 -2016 Biondi Santi Riserva 2011 -2013 -2015 Biondi Santi Rosso di Mont 2015 -2018 Which one is the best for drink or collect. They are selling me that by case.
@@AttorneySomm Yes and also the double pruning method for producing grapes at the right time of year, ceated by the Brazilian enologist Murilo Albuquerque Regina, that created very good reds also. Like Maria Maria winery.
