Today we're taking another iconic Bionicle character and converting him into an evil Shadow Toa! This time it's Takanuva, along with his ride the Ussanui. #bionicle #review #takanuva
You should’ve given Light Makuta a copy of Turaga Nuju’s head, since the original Makuta uses a trans medium blue eye/brain piece, which Nuju also uses with a white head attached
Awesome build, glad you got around to Shadow Takanuva. I wonder what the Shadow Takanuva and Light Makuta combination would look in comparison to the OG?
I love your dedication to these alternate builds, as well as your willingness to experiment with dyes! The infected Hau on the Shadow Ussanui is a beautiful touch that speaks to your enthusiasm. I did NOT expect to see Light Teridax; what an amazing surprise!
Just realized that Shadow Toa are canon, i believe in one of the stories a Makuta was kidnapping Takunuva's from different realities to create a Shadow Toa army.
May be my fanfic brain here, but I imagine this Shadow Takanuva being the only Shadow Towa to go through a character arc. Being unable to fight the inherent purity of the power of light he is copied from, switching sides and betraying his creator.
I imagine the Shadow asa-nui sounding loud as hell. Like those jackasses who do everything they can to make their motorbikes as noisy as humanly possible and drive through neighbourhoods at 11pm
I’d love to see light Makuta with more gold but hey still looks good. Still remember when I first saw the OG makuta in Walmart. I had cash in hand and my parents made me wait till Christmas. Best bionicle ever. Dude was solid as a rock.
I personally would have used the large black Brutaka blades that came with the snowmobile Glatorian set, and Hero Factory Rotor. Those would look so sinister as the landing gear and staff for Shadow Takanuva.
What I don’t get is why did they give makuta silver takanuva masks instead of gun metal versions. It would have matched the rest of the armor and allowed us to get a gun metal version of takanuva
I like to imagine in an alternate timeline the good Makuta created the Raksei as an attempt to have something to fight back against the toa and show the matoran there being manipulated by the toa and teraga. But the raksei ended up going feral and thus it only made things worse.
I want to know if light teradax is just makuta redeemed imagine the crossover potential with light teradax showing up to protect the main timeline Toa from shadow takanuva who showed up at the same time though a different portal, there's just so much story potential with this
I love your videos man! These are easily my favorite sets, love what you did here. I almost have shadow Kopaka done, just missing a large gear and his shield. And I can't wait for the shiny Toa video! I know that one's gonna be great.
Fantastic to see another entry into the Shadow Toa series! The red accents on the Ussanui work really well here and I love how your videos have a recurring trend of ending with a recolored titan. I'm curious to see if the burnt orange air katanas or blue-pin axles can be dyed black using this technique too. Will definitely be trying it out! Keep up the great content
An idea for a colours swap group could be the alternate versions of the Toa Metru from Time Trap (where the matoran the helped the toa metru became toa instead), not much new pieces needed aside from figuring out their masks and swapping up the small differences between how each one is built
this is pretty good! one thing, i think having the bike and takanuva himself in the same colors makes them kinda blend together when he's riding the bike. i think giving takanuva some bits of silver or red armor along his limbs would help that. i think maybe trans orange hands could help? as seen in the stars rhakshi. and maybe something different with the feet, though i'm not sure what
@@sonidash216 very subtle, but yeah. The one on Makuta is "Pearl Light Grey" (same as the Nuva Armor) while the one with Takanuva Stars is "Flat Silver" (same as silver pieces used from the Piraka on).
I would have used gun mental armor and the gun metal avokhi for Takanuva. You could tie it together using gun metal for the Rakshi shells on the vehicle as well... But perhaps it would be one too many colors, with the silver in there. The skrall blade didn't worked on Takanuva at all. Specially if you look at him without the vehicle. The red just stand out too much. It could work if you added some red ascents on him as well thou... PS: You should have used DARK RED for the shadow toa eyes instead of Pohatu's orange.
Also there is no reason for this to be canon, but I choose to believe the shadow ulsa nui exists and makuta used it to smash nuparu’s boxor specifically right after the bahrag queens were defeated as a middle finger to him specifically
Man I made a comment here hours ago and it seems that RU-vid deleted it? Ah I'll make this one short then, the Takanuva Moc looks really well done! The red pops super well! I made a comment on the Shadow Toa Nuva video that I was making my own Voriki which is currently pretty much almost done, I came to the realization thanks to this vid and due to shapeways being too expensive that I might be better off dyeing torso and feet pieces into purple instead of 3d Printing them and I found the dye you use in purple, based on your experience would you recommend a white Kopaka or a black Onua as the base pieces for a color close to the Onepu coloring?
Im gonna be trying some purple shorty, so I will let you know once I've had a chance to experiment. But you can't go lighter with dye, only darker, so I'm pretty sure that starting with white is the best option. Maybe blue. Stay tuned!
@@brickthumb Once again RU-vid deleted my first comment, not sure why it keeps happening on this channel specifically for me, maybe it had an issue with the imgur link I posted I ordered violet dye of the same brand and tried it on a spare Kopaka torso and foot piece I had and the results were amazing, the purple is on point and pretty much indistinguishable from the 2001 bionicle purple.
alright, i kinda wanna vote that the light makuta be, instead of teridax, be a restored Krika, since i BELIEVE he was one of like...two Makuta who didnt want to betray Mata Nui
Since this is sort of about Takuanuva in 08, Will you make the video on the canonical Unadapted forms of the adaptive armor Toa Nuva (i.e. the Toa Nuva in thier 08 colors)? Will It be a few videos from now, when you later cover 08 or never?
Another awesome job, excellent video man ^^ Do you like Slizers/Throwbots? Those can be color swapped too. And if it is possible, reverse colors. So the red and orange swapped on a Toa
I honestly never thought of giving a Shadow Takanuva a shadow Ussanui. Love the use of black and red coloration though, as it harkens back to the 2003 Makuta Titan set
looks damn cool, I'm still searching for my Takanuva and the shiny Mask, the Light Makuta looks great too and could work as the version from another universe
All the versions look really great. I know the idea is to use all official parts, but i think it'd be cool to look into resin 3D printing a mask in black. I've been printing a lot of masks recently and I really love the results and how legit you can get them to look when you put in the effort.
Maybe continue with the shadow toa, but got with the 2004 line and maybe try to make the what would have been the sets of the Toa Hagah. There is only 2 sets from them as Toa and Toa Hugah were the Rahaga from 2005 lines. Iruini and Norik did get sets, I had Iruini as I couldn't get the two in one set as a kid. If I could get the money, I would love to get set set, maybe a few dozen Vahki, Visoark, and Bohrok and a a few of each rahi sets. Of course I would get one or two of the sets with combiners and the pieces to make some of the Dark Hunters and the varying Makuta.
