I have never wished for a video to be in English, more than this one. lol. I am enrolled in a program for my msc in biotechnology, and honestly, I am contemplating adding bioinformatics and double major or apply to a whole different program. I am in the US, but I would loved to have known how job prospects are with a degree like this in another parts of the world. Anyway, your videos have been of immense help to me. Unfortunately, in India engineers are overpaid compared to the work they do while the general degree sciences like Bsc, Msc suffer due to lack of jobs or tremendously less salary compared to the volume of work. In a country like ours, the only well paid fields are engineering, doctors, commerce. So if you want to directly go for a job after Bsc or Msc be prepared for a lot of struggle with very low salary. The only option left is academics which is a severely frustrating and time consuming path (take it from a final year PhD student). For the kids, who are going to choose a career after 12th std please choose wisely and try to go for mainstream professional course like btech comp science engineering, etc. You will thank me later.

@@pritika1406 may be ... But it depends on from where you are doing msc in biotechnology. I mean if you do msc biotechnology from iit or any big university than you definitely get better jobs in abroad as well.

We tend to ignore traditional biotech like agricultural biotech, food and beverages, beer and wine industry, cheese and dairy , enzyme industry etc. Jumping into so called modern biotech like recombinant technology, biosimilar and mabs etc are death trap if you are not trained from IITs, or good a good US university ( not UK and never Australia or New Zealand !) in Industry only good jobs are outside India in Amgen, Genentech ,etc.. It may be better to invest in building carrier in MSc Agri, or Organic Chem , or Chem Engineering if you want to go to Pharma. Regarding CDRI and most other CSIR, they are white elephants who eat up our taxes and have given nothing in return but bogus PhDs , which drug has CDRI invented in past 75 years ??

ss ur crt even bsc or msc or phd totally waste only we obtain knowledge about immunology food technology microbiology biochemistry molecular biology and some others paper we learned then nothing use of it....even really b a english is really better we can get more jobs.

Currently there is no job in biotechnology except in some case MNCs of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical companies like Biocon Lupin Dr ready Hetero preferred B Pharma M Pharma in production QA QC only job in rare cases they offer job in microbiology sections where very limited chances. So preferred msc in organic chemistry for QC b Pharma for QA and production

Be prepared for a toxic work environment built around negative attitude and not teamwork. I’ve worked at 3 different biotech companies in the last 6 years and all of them toxic. It’s hard to weight whether its worth it for the exploitive wage.

After Btech Biotech you will get good job in good industry but starting salary varies from 12000 to 22000 but after having some experience you will get very very high salary masters not mandatory but 4 year bachelor's is mandatory for in india and abroad and department you can choose but you can't get in pharmaceutical, food and agri because they will take only those who are having specialization as same as industry you can choose only biopharmaceutical industry like vaccines, Biologics and biosimilar industries.Industry is far better than academics and research because there growth chances is very very low. There is lot to do in biotech after graduation so don't worry guys.

@Vaibhavi Golhe if you want to do PG then go for Msc Biotechnology or else you can go for a job in Research in CSIR or any university research department in any project or you will choose Industry like Biocon, Intas pharmaceutical, panacea Biotec ltd in QC/QA department or else in Production department. But I will suggest you to go on for a Msc in Biotechnology it will help you to get more suitable job. All the best😊👍

@@IbrahimKhan-zr6wj You can get job in any Biopharmaceutical company or in any research institute or in any university now it's all up to you where you want to go either in research or in industrial job for research you can join as a project assistant in any CSIR lab any university or private research institute and for industrial job you can apply in Biocon, Intas pharmaceutical, zydus, Panacea Biotec, lupin, wockhard you can attend walk-in or you can apply through their career section or follow on linked to suitable job notification you can join in QC/ QA or in R&D department. I personally suggest you join industry there you can learn a lot. All the best😊👍👍👍👍

It takes too long to get decent job in biotech in India. In industry there very few biopharma companies to absorb you. More than qualification biotech skill is important . Mol-Bio jobs are frustrating. Food industry is better choice.

Starting salary for a fresher for master degree in biotechnology is 25k in good pharma industry like Biocon Syngene Intas Dr.Reddys Aragen Sai Labs. Please donot generalise by saying it's 12k. This will only demotivate students. Also industrial experience is far better than academia where people don't have any work life balance

You have to do M.Sc.Microbiology. you will get job as Microbiologist in Hospitals, pharmaceutical company, food industry etc. You also get government job. There is no scope for biotechnology in India. There is no job like biotechnologist. If there any job it will get as a researcher or jrf. I don't know why this course is now in India🤔? If you are confused go to the website "indeed" and type microbiologist. You will get many jobs like microbiologist. Go for head. You will get bright future. Microbiologist is like a doctor....
