I am tired and irritable in this video after being triggered. I vented my feeling on this though, as it's so frustrating.
The stigma and stereotypes that persist with serious mental illness like bipolar disorder. Plus the harmful misinformation. One of the most frustrating things is the generalising of medical conditions into 'traits', which worsen stigma and stereotypes. An example: saying everyone with bipolar disorder cheats in relationships.
I have been called honest to a fault and I was very triggering seeing someone's video secondhand (as a very lazy 'reaction' video), saying that what this person does (lying, cheating, manipulation etc) are 'bipolar traits'.
Then, further misinformation in the comments, saying this is bipolar 1 and mania and insisting that this list in the 1 minute video are 'bipolar traits'.
Generalising into 'traits' has been done with other diagnoses made into identities. These 'traits' could go with multiple diagnoses and none at all.
One's personality and values also factors in.
