This circuit design video example walks through the analysis of a common Biquad or Tow-Thomas Filter Topology. This structure is also referred to as the "ring of three" op amp circuit or filter. In this example we can simultaneously extract Band-pass Filter Response and Low-pass filter response. The presented analysis shows how to obtain the transfer functions for both LPF (lowpass) and BPF (bandpass) filters. The resulting transfer function coefficients are also discussed including the natural frequency, the 3dB bandwidth (B) and the filter quality factor or Q factor which is the ratio of natural frequency and bandwidth.
