That has not worked for me, I can’t get the xt30 (input) or xt60 (output) to work for charging or discharging. Never had any luck getting these scooter packs to charge
Thanks for this man - I'm really close to getting this working - can you link the charger you are using? I've got a couple different ones and none of them seem to work.
Absolutely I actually made a video of me showing how I run 2 Bird batteries in parallel and in series ! You can bypass discharge and use the BMS for charging only. Load Power straight from tabs! Connecting a battery in series is when you connect two or more batteries together to increase the battery systems overall voltage, connecting batteries in series does not increase the capacity only the voltage. That being said be sure not to over exceed 60 Amps (when choosing your controller) Parallel Pairing is different your amp draw will go from 60 A to 120 A
Ay man you gotta make a video of whatever the hell you described in your description lol. Tried to read over it twice and it still don't make sense to me.
Theres a reset circuit you can trip too. I found on mine that when you short the leads on the comm line it trips the bms into protection mode. You contact the rst and b- just to the side of the red light.
@@milosavarsenijevic2560 its along the left side if the charge pins are closest to you. Its a set of four open pins on the pc board about 5 inches up. Just look closely for 4 solder beads in a row and it should say rst under one of the pins
@P&J scooter mods I have a charging issue. I only can charge my battery through the discharging port. I already bridged the pins “b- and RST” but no change. My charger light goes from green to red and back to green. And the red light is flickering a little bit, while the charger is connected
Yes, but the light from the charger is still green and after few mins connected the voltage of the battery didn’t increase, so that’s for me a sign that the battery isn’t charging. And through the discharging port it’s fine for me. Also the charging stops automatically at 42v after it’s reached. So what do you think, can I leave it like this?
Aye bro have you figured out how to turn the new Lime scooters into personals yet? I'm talking about the new new ones that have the Grey removable battery pack in the center of the deck. And it has nice curved handle bars on it. Have you seen them yet out there in Austin? I live in Long Beach , Cali. And I have a plethra of all types of scooters out here. But I want to figure out those new Lime joints....
Lol yeah I bet that’s where all the scooters originated well I know bird did at least ! Those new lime scooters have not hit my area yet. I’ve only seen them online/RU-vid shit like that. I would need a scooter in my possession that way I can break it down and study it.. but I’m pretty sure should be the same deal when it comes to putting it together, nothing really changes
Pero que hiciste después de quitar la cubierta porque pues solo vuelves a conectar los cables y ya aparece ese led rojo y después ya lo conectas al scooter pero que hiciste antes
That’s pretty crazy that you can just plug it in and it works, I get a pretty solid red light, it flickers a bit but solid. I’ve had to bypass before but I can’t get chafing to work
Damn just checked my cells and they are DEAD I’m pretty sure. That’s unfortunate asf. I get 6v for the whole thing each cell is at a fraction of a volt
So I have a bird 3 I pulled out of the river while fishing I'm trying to charge battery an use it for my trolling motor on kayak but it's only reading 1volt. So is it screwed for sure or is there a way to "wake " it up it blinking red on the battery but I'm assuming it's way to low to let charger charge it is there anything I can do?
Yeah that’s probably not even worth messing with there! Best thing to do to get them batteries charged to probably break down the whole battery pack and charge the battery cells individually and then put everything back together.. that’s just too much work if you ask me
@@pjscootermods ok yea I figured but ok thanks really appreciate u taking the time to reply bro your videos are extremely helpful. Did you expect so many people to watch em when u first started?
@@albertscroggins7977nope I sure dident! But it’s a blessing ! At one time I remember only having 2 subscribers and within 6-7 months now I’m at 2.5 k 🙏 and still growing it’s crazy ! Now I-just need -sponsorships-but everything takes time. Thanks bro 💪
@@richardview1281 Batteries connected in series give an increase in voltage, in order to increase the current it is necessary to connect them in parallel.
Hey bruh, I just got a charger and tried charging my battery packs. I dont get a red light on my charger at all, bu the red l.e.d on the bms acts the same way yours does and makes that same sound. However, even after like 6 hours charging the battery is only outputting like 10V??? lmk IF YOU have any pointers. Thanks again bruh and keep em comin!
For that you’re gonna have to grab you another battery.. that’s a no go 🙅♂️ .. Just grab you another battery and you’re good, don’t even try repairing that thing
@@pjscootermodsbro my battery is outputting normal current but red light won’t come on and it won’t charge is the battery bad. No charging noise and the charging light stays green. Battery is at 40 volts rn
Help needed. Bird 3. I bought a charger but the light remains green when plugged in. I checked the connectors at the BMS and it reads 93v going into the board. The little red LED light blinks once every 3 seconds but it is not charging. I tried the reset by jumping the RST and B- before and while charging but still the same blinking pattern. Any advise? thanks
@@pjscootermods My bad Sir, the battery pack reads 35.5v, when I plug the charger in, the reading is 43.2v going in but still, the LED light blinks every 3 secs. Does it means it is fully charged? I will put everything back together and ride it. I will update in a few days.
@@a.caballero9514 They’re supposed to be a light that blinks so that part is normal. No worries on that part If the light is Constant then you have a problem. Should charge right up ! Soon as you plug into charger if it needs charging then the light will be red indicating a charge. You had said your battery is at 43 V ? The maximum voltage reading should be 42.2 V .. if that’s the case I assume your battery pack is all the way charged! And that my friend will call you like to stay green .
Hello, I have a problem on my battery the output voltage is only 22v. When I charge the charger indicator remains green but I have 40v on C+ and C- and the BMS red LED remains fixed. I don't understand why the output voltage is so low and no longer charging ??
Yoooo bro my scooter worked fine and then the bms bypass solder broke and after I connected it again I have solid red light on battery. Is the battery totally done now or is there a fix?? Thanks man
You should use a thick piece of wire when doing your bypass I would say maybe a 10 gauge wire.. it sounds like your wire fried and may have caused a short circuit !! 😬 is your board burnt (bms ) could be a component on the board.. what voltage are you getting out of the battery pack ?
@@juvenalgonzalez8756 Amazon or Ali Express. You're looking for a 10s 36Volt BMS. You will have to solder all of the power and balancing wires on. There are a ton of other youtube videos on it.
My battery voltage is so low.The whole pack have only 3.07 volts , the red light on the BMS blinks but the charger shows green and the charger charges it with only 200mA.The problem is not on the charger because I tried with another. How to fix the issue?
Sounds like it’s time for a new battery ! 🪫 if you did the BMS bypass and you’re only at 3.7 V, then your battery pack has become undervoltage and will not charge because the charging box will not detect it since it’s below 31 v . Solution for this is a battery replacement
my bird flex really took a shit on me 2 weeks ago when it decided to not charge anyone. i use it to commute to work and back since it saves me so much gas, and i tried to take the battery off but can’t seem to know how to take the cover off.. please, please can you help me out in any way.
Doesn't work my battery is messed up it's showing proper voltage on the side that charges but on the output side it's only got 28 volts or something and on the charge side so the charger thinks it's fully charged cuz it says it's 38 volts if you touch the charging leads with a multimeter any idea how to fix these batteries LOL I've already bypassed the BMS I think I shorted it out or something I must be it's been sitting awhile now
I just got my charger today but My bird 3 has been charging for over 5 hrs and the light hasn't turned green is that normal I'm almost on to 7 hrs of it charging
I did everything but my throttle won't work and when I unplug it while the scooter is on It run none stop!!! Is there anything I did wrong I even change the throttle it's still doing the same thing and yes I try the Two intelligent cables still no luck 😢 Help please
Your not wiring somthing right on the throttle part .. the only way I see the wheel free spinning is if your forgetting to coonect your ground -black wire- going to your throttle. If u leave out the black the wheel is going to free spin..make sure it’s not pinced somweheres along the way causing it to ground out That’ll also cause it to Free spin. If you replaced the throttle already like you said then it doesn’t like a throttle issue
bro my battery is outputting normal current but red light won’t come on and it won’t charge is the battery bad. No charging noise and the charging light stays green. Battery is at 40 volts rn. it was charging before my bms bypass
@@Diceman361 yeah i shorted the bms at some point lol. had to get a new battery. even your sweaty palms are enough to short or trip the bms so be careful. in my experience if the red light isnt coming on or its not flashing normal the bms is broken. some people will replace the bms but its a little time consuming
Depends what you have if you have a bird-3 then I’d go with the 500w brushless controller If you have the bird-2 will then go with a 350 W brushless controller
Yeah man that’s why I say to be careful working around all those small different components you have on the BMS.. working with electricity it’s pretty fucked up i’ll let you know what you’re doing.. Nothing on that BMS needs to be touched except for the B plus to P plus bypass that way you can get your output back.. Without the bypass your scooter is no more then much a brick!
