Well done. As a young boy, I used to go nesting and found all the most common birds over the years. The site of a hedge sparrows nest with those beautiful blue eggs is unforgettable. Found a cuckoo's egg in such a nest in the early sixties. Brings back memories and can't help looking in hedges now!
In my time I've never come across a blackbird nesting on the ground. When you approached that patch of bracken I thought you were going to say a woodcock.👍
