After 30 years with canon and nikon I've been using OM for about 6 months. OM1 with BG -40-150 2.8 -1,4x -2x. You have to know how to use it and is possible get excellent results. Last week I sold mine Z8 with the 500 pf😁😁😁
@@cutecoots Because were I live a salesperson told me that the Nikon Z9 is particularly brought by 50+ year old men. Younger people does not buy dedicated cameras. If they buy them then it is a Sony for vlogging and video. So age does make a point for the future of the camera business. The same way that many products or companies are checking the age of their customers. Look at the reaction of investors to the company Facebook when they are telling that younger people is leaving the platform.
@@angeloplayforone I wouldnt agree. I mean I also know young people who have Leica, Vacheron Constantin watches and not only buy the hype stuff but what they really want. If someone needs / wants a good wildlife camera, why would you have to wait until you are old..? 🤔
@@cutecoots You always find a person doing something other in a group as buyers. This does not mean that the majority of the buyers are the same as this person. Younger people are studying, after that working to pay their study, their time they focus on their children and if they look to buy something is a house for their family. They don’t have time to do wildlife. If they need a camera they will use their smartphone to make photos of their children’s, so they can send them via Internet to their friends and family. 20 years ago people in this age will buy a point and shoot or entry level DSLR. Nowadays this is not needed. 4 months ago a friend of mine, his wife give birth to a son and he send me a photo made with his smartphone to all friends. At work a colleague who has 3 daughters between age from 20 till 27 said to me that none of their daughters use a camera to make photo. He used to have an old DSLR because his father was a photographer, but now he don’t use the DSLR. He doesn’t understand why I buy a dedicated camera. So majority of young people don’t use a camera. Those using camera are old enough to live in a world when you want to take a photo you need a dedicated camera.
I love Petr's work, he is an amazing photographer. I'm sure that the new OM-1 II is an even better camera, I'm just sad the OM System is advertising only bird, wildlife and nature/adventure photography. I'm a documentary and event photographer and I love that I have a small compact system, that is weather-sealed, combined with the PRO lenses and especially the 1.2 primes it gives me flexibility and security for any type of work but this is not recognized as an important work by OM System. How many OM system ambassadors are photographing portrait, event and documentary work? I can think only about Jimmy Cheng.
