Pia
is it too late to ask a question. Sorry I was working when the LIVE talk was streamed. Thank you for going over Focus Stacking/Bracketing Tomas. I am completely new to the world of stacking/bracketing images. I understand the theory behind it and have marvelled at the images produced by it and have at last managed to save up and buy myself some kit that can help (ie bracket and stack rather than just do it all manually). My question is, and wait for it it will be a stupid one, but I have to ask.......exactly what file size would a stacked/bracketed image be? I need to brace myself for buying extra storage. Does the image become compressed or is it literally so many images x the size of format you are working with. Ok apologies for asking such a question.
Thanks for this wonderful and educational video, Thomas. I have one question about the gear you showed in your video about flashlight. I could see you use a novaflex castle q but what is put on top of it. I refer to the part that is moving the camera in vertical position. is it also nova flex, cause I couldn't find it on there website. Hope you can find th time to answer my question. greetings Martin
Would also be nice if each set of stacks / brackets had a file name series that identified all images in a set. It gets hard to sort when you have many sets .
You can but you have to use an extension tube so the rear end does not protude into the camera body. I have not tried this yet and not all extensions have a hole big enoughto accept the MC20. I have heard the JJC extension tube works but cant confirm. Just google this as it has been discussed a number of times
For live streams it is impossible to do simultaneous subtitles. But you can find the English version for the Bird AI & Pro Capture session here: ru-vid.comWybaQx6es3w
David, this is excellent. It’s all we need, and easily accessible. It’s brilliant. Thank you. Would you please create a series of these “bite sized tutorials” for each of the Computational Modes, and possibly more? I’m especially interested in information on the Digital Teleconverter, as it sometimes seems to be a “hit or miss” proposition with RAW+SF JPEG.
Diky
I really want this camera but I feel it’s a bit too expensive. It costs as much as a Canon R5. I know it has some great features that R5 does not but it’s not a FF so it should be priced more reasonably.
Thank-you Matt! Excellent guidance to get started with Starry Sky and Live Comp. Can't wait to try it all! Love your images - some really beautiful scenes you have captured! Noted from a couple critical comments here (mostly from other camera brand-users not familiar with OM Systems) - about the monitor/lcd screen brightness: If you are using the monitor, the brightness setting can be lowered so it doesn't bother you or other photographers in the vicinity, when you're out. Its in the Menu > Tool settings.
Great informative short to the point video, wish Id seen this prior to 2 days ago when I went out to shoot the milky way :( as i didnt know about starry sky AF. lol..
I was using the Nikon DSLR systems with prime lenses for all my Widlife and travel until 2020. Later switched to the Sony Mirrorless System A1 and A9 with primes and later switched to the 24-70 F2.8, 70-200 2,8 and 200-600 F 6.3. I was very happy with both DSLR/Mirrorless withs Primes, especially the Sony as the weight reduced drastically. I just purchased an Olympus OM-D-EM1 MkII , a 12-100 F4 and 60 mm F2.8 just to experiment a light and compact option going forward, as i find it very cumbersome and a big hazzle in Airports with cabin bag restrictions. I am deligthed with the results that the combination gave. I am surely going to try the Telephoto options in the future whenever OM releases a upgraded version. I was struggling with the 60 mm 1:1 settings and this video has helped me so much. I am enjoying using this lens now. Thank you for putting up this video.
I have the OM-1 Mark II and I use bird AI and mammal AI and I have had issues with both where it does not pick up the eye. When this happens I cannot pick up the subject even when it's looking at me. Some examples include bison for mammals and an eastern kingbird for birds. The common denominator is that both the face and the eye can be hard to differentiate because they're like colors. Is there something I'm possibly doing wrong or does AI need to get better?
I have the E-M1 II and I am not able to find a setting for tripod/handheld. My firmware is 3.7. Do I need to use one of the Olympus pro lenses for this to work?
