This is SUCH a fun video to watch!! I love brainstorming new ways to make my bird’s spaces and I now have so many new ideas!! Thanks for always thinking of really cool, unique video ideas. Keep it up!❤

Diy thought!! You could use a bar sized hand washing sink with an aquarium pump or filter to run water to the sink from a bucket outside of the room... Water would be continuously filtered that way too!

Fyi, you can use white vinegar to easily remove poop from hard surfaces. You just have to give it time to work. I spray poop that's on my kitchen floor then leave it for about 5 minutes then wipe it up with a paper towel. It comes right off! 😊 I've also used it on carpet. It works to some extent, but sometimes I have to spray, leave it for 5 minutes, then wipe more than once. I adopted a Goffin's Cockatoo a couple of years ago who had a lot of old poop on his cage floor and in areas surrounding the cage. I used the same method all over the cage: spray; wait; wipe. I was able to remove about 3/4 of the mess the first time around. I had to spray, wait etc. a couple of extra times to get the more stubborn residue off (I also used a scrub brush). His cage looked practically brand new afterwards.

You are simply the best educator on RU-vid regarding birds and their care. Many happy Christmas and new year wishes to you and your flock x

I have a question about their eating area. What are the stone looking tiles made of and how did you attach them to the wall? We were using waterproof wallpaper but are looking for something a little more aesthetic 😊

They are house exterior wall tiles, I forget the exact material but they are plastic in nature. They’re typically used to cover the outside of a home for aesthetics and waterproofing. They have their own system for connecting to a wall, it’s basically a beam you screw in along the base, the bottom layer of rocks click in to it and the rest slide in to each rock layer with some screws securing the tops of each layer.

Do you have any ideas on some kind of peel and stick product that a renter could put around a door frame to protect it from being chewed on? I typically don't have a problem because I keep my birds away from the door frames. However, I'd still like some kind of damage free product to attach - just to be safe. Damage free could include something that can be screwed into the frame and removed later as long as small screws are used. I can fill holes with spackle, of course. 😊

I know there’s some peel n stick plastic covers to stop cats from scratching furniture! There might be something along those lines that can suit the job!

If they’re too large for the traditional bleach soak, rinse, and oven bake method I opt to soak them in bleach outside by using a drenched cloth to spread the bleach along the wood and have it soak in. After about a day of soaking I’ll rinse it off and then leave it in the sun for a few more days until completely dry (bleach kills the viruses/ bacteria, UV exposure kills any remaining bleach, dryness inhibits bacterial growth) You can also use a power washer to quickly remove bark or surface debris if needed
