Birding Alaska with Curtis & Mike - Part 1: Homer-Bound

Yep! Been to all the same places! It’s just as you depict. Exciting revisiting with you. Aleutian tern colony was cool, birds flying over us. We did a short pelagic out of Homer. I had the same lifers as you.

Thanks! I have started production on part 2 but it will be a bit between each episode as I do this in my “free time”. I am certainly enjoying sharing the story!

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The godwits were certainly a treat not taken for granted. I hope you can make it back and go to Homer. It’s such a unique area. And I hope to make it back and get to Barrow, Nome and the Aleutians (I’m jealous of that!).

@@Ovenbirder Oh, I guess you would be a little envious of that... Barrow, Nome and St Paul were such treats! The trip we made was of the once-in-a-lifetime sort and cost an arm and a leg, we'd saved to it for years. I've uploaded videos from the trip here on YT, they're not as good as yours, I refuse to speak (being a Swede) so I just text and leave it at that. And I filmed with my camera at the time, the Canon 7D II, and it's a nice camera for photos, but *man* it SUCKS to film with. So the video clips are both few and shitty/SHAKY, the resulting videos are more of a glorified slideshows... I'm still quite proud of them, though.🙄

@Hummingbirder1 I’ll have to check out your videos! I’m pretty amateur myself and most of my stable stuff is digicoped with my iPhone. I also use a super zoom Canon Supershot (which can be a bit unsteady!). I’m currently putting together my Seward and Kenai Fjords NP video. Then I’ll have videos after that covering more interior Alaska including Denali Highway, Fairbanks and Denali NP. I hope you tune in for those videos as well. No drop dates yet though, as I work on them when I have time.
