Early utcheck from Umbrellabird Lodge, birding our way out from the park. That added Buff-throated Saltator, Bronze-winged Parrot, Barred Puffbird and the rare gem Ochraceous Atila to our bird list.
Birding along the way to Catacocha is very rewarding. We saw Harris' Hawk, Scarlet-backed Woodpecker and the Target Raptor Gray-backed Hawk, the shy Andean Thrush (very fast view; no photo and certainly no video), Three-banded Warbler, Streaked Saltator and Watkins' Antpitta.
Arrival to Jorupe at 3:30 PM, where we spotted the next set of new birds of which I only got Ecuadorian Trogon, Pale-browed Tinamou and Amazilia Hummingbird on photo.
After dinner we had a real moth-bonanza around the restaurant's outdoor lamps. When it was time for R & R in our cabin we could add calling Pauraque and Spectacled Owl to the list.
