"It's that first moment where you touch someone and that electricity just goes through you, and you realize, 'My God, I'm in trouble!'" Best description of sexual attraction I've ever heard.
The way they explained the story from their own perspectives is so amazing, you really can feel how committed they are with their characters, they explain it so passionately
Amazing film! I read the book and they did a great job with the film. Can't think of two better actors to play Stephen and Isabelle.. They were both amazing!
Clemence is a phenomenal actress. I just watched all three seasons of The Tunnel where she plays a French Detective who suffers from some form of social awkwardness, but is at the same time, extraordinarily brilliant (possibly Asperger's syndrome) . My favorite scene is in season two, where she tells her British Detective Partner, that he is her best friend. I think her acting ability truly knows no bounds.
Was motoring my little sailing boat down through France this summer, Somme region included, and concentrated more on reading this book than steering the boat sometimes. Haven't seen this film but interested to see how the main characters are depicted. Thought, Stephen was suppose to be dark eyed and quite a cold, hard type - result of a no effection upbringing. OK, I can understand that the film going public have criteria that they have to relate to, and that a certain amount of diluting is necessary to cater for their needs but too much and the gist is lost. Keep it stiff and hard and let them, the viewers, decide for themselves. Thought jeanne looked the part.
Another bloody love story. When are the British going to make a decent war film. Later all the war films to come out of the UK have turned out to be love stories. The days of the war classics of British cinema with such moves as A Bridge to Far and the Dambusters are sadly long and truly over.
