These videos of the North West of England are a real eye-opener to me, I come from this area, Chester/Upton suburbs, my folks are Ellesmere Port WWII up to 1970, so much has changed, drugs and poverty, decline of industry, very sad.

Spent the first 26 years of my life in birkenhead, very rough place. My family are still there and i visit a few times a year and it is not getting better.

My home town Birkenhead it's an absolute shit hole now no shops or nothing it's a disgrace and it's full of nasty people down there so glad I moved away from Birkenhead it's a ghost town now

Some good convo there n the lad who has been clean a month is good to see n as a person who's traveled that road with life's tests n hardships I truly believe many are carrying trauma of some kind... Adoption n care homes is a tough one n yes I had 6 mths of trauma therapy n I truly know one of the best things I've done and defo helped me... People.. Places n things is such a true metaphor and once you crack that your on the right track n yes I'd rather be in no company than the wrong company.. Not many friends but yes I know I'm grateful for my life today n I've got real peace 💯
I feel so very much pity and sadness for these women. Not only are they constantly putting themselves in danger. Looking at some of the weird punters hanging around ... A horrible way of existence on every level. 😢😢
Go to the nice places of the wirral too mate, honestly we got pure suburban countryside like Thornton, Neston & Heswall, even Paul McCartney's got a house around there, Daniel Craig's from Hoylake too, we got some nice scenery too, The whole peninsula isn't just the ass end of Birkenhead & Rockferry, I know your show focuses on impoverished places to spread awareness & help for vulnerable people in unfortunate circumstances, but the wirral is fuckin brilliant mate, that look out to the Irish Sea with pure views of the welsh mountains & the whole of Liverpool on opposite ends From Biddy Hill, I know Scousers slag us off and call us wools hahaaaa but we've got the best picturesque view of Liverpool's skyline, The longest pier in England With New Brighton beach in summer 🤟, and great restaurants & coffee shops there by the pier with the arcades, The Wirral is not a shithole, its probably one of the most misinterpreted place in the whole of Merseyside, because people think the whole peninsula is called Birkenhead 🤣 Plus the Norwegians brought the Lobscouse here first so by definition.... We're the first Scousers, google it if you want, type in "Who's the real Scousers" 🤣 all the best mate 🙏

I’ve stayed around Heswall, Thornton Hough Brimstage area a couple of times. It’s a total world away from what we have just watched and hard to believe it’s probably about 20 or so minutes drive away from there. x

I enjoyed that one, it was quite sad too in parts, the young guy Adam, i hope he carries on with his recovery, he'll need to watch with his new flat, some residents of his hostel might be bad for that.
It gets to my heart & soul seeing once popular beatufull now broken Girls/ladys in that way...iv been around it growing up and all my life and its getting worse for the girls/homeless people/even once relativelycoping people! It's great to see people getting away for drug's. I was a heroin crack, coke and tablets been clean for 20 year's it's hard but if you get your mind into change and change your life away from your friends who take drugs you can succeed

Born and bred in Birkenhead an ended up in the Pembrook, I wernt an addict just went down the wrong path being a little shit ended up getting kicked out went to the Bridge first downtown then ended up in there. Supported living it was. Was more like an open jail more than anything haha. Good times but an old life, moved to Preston and changed my life around! HGV driver now with an amazing family round me. It can be done getting away from that negative lifestyle if your any it bad enough!
A few weeks ago l walked past the now derelict Central Hotel, Birkenhead. The lounge part of the hotel was a nice classy place with plush comfy seats to go for a pint of Double Diamond( who remembers that beer ? ) when l was a teenager in the late 1960s. The bar was a typical old school bar. I thought to myself l wonder what it’s like inside that place now? I didn’t mention my thoughts to anyone. I didn’t check it out on RU-vid . A few days later a couple of lads who look through old boarded up buildings popped up out of the blue for me to view their latest film . They had actually gone inside the Central Hotel building and filmed what it looks like now. This didn’t make any sense, why would this would pop up for me to view. I am now beginning to think that RU-vid can even tap into your thoughts😅
Imagine how much more presentable that pub would look if they just gave it a lick of paint on the outside … Currently looks like a scene from the walking dead ☠️
Some of the kindest, most giving and thoughtful people live in Rock Ferry and New Ferry. The conditions stem from underfunding, central government greed and multiple issues with drugs over many many years. Rocky was a great school which supported kids that no other school could. Truely inclusive but a victim of falling rolls.
