Well iam not going Birmingham anymore, I'll go to the next town the shows on, I pay £250 rd tax already, so I have to pay the toll charge and now this extra tax, bye bye Birmingham,
There's a lot of building going on in Birmingham , and the city looks great and will look even better.... It's a pity that that with this charge no one will go into it, and it'll be a ghost town....
This has put me off going in twice recently; to buy clothes & for a family meal at a restaurant. Spent that money elsewhere. This is will kill the city centre.
The Biggest CON in line with the common wealth games which is why the government and councillors want to recoup additional monies ......... hope the games flop as it is at the residents expense ?????? why such an expensive cost !!!!!
Where are the infrastructure changes to give people a viable alternative to using their car? There are no changes to the rail system, no car parks being built at railway stations. No cycle paths on routes such as the A456 and the tramways on city centre streets have turned them into death traps for cyclists.
I am disgusted !!!!! The so called clean air zone :- There is nothing wrong with air in B'ham. It is crystal clear and like a mountain spring The C.A. Z . Will destroy jobs because those on low incomes will not be able to afford the £16 a day to travel too and from work across the centre of Birmingham especially if they work shifts at unsocial hours. when there are NO buses ! Will destroy the retail centre of Birmingham because no supplier will pay a £50 penalty for a lorry to deliver goods to shops - destroying retail jobs Will increase the cost of living in the West Midlands and consumers pay the price and have to fork out for increased shop prices Will turn the centre of Birmingham into a retail desert. I now shop at the Merry Hill Centre where customers who drive are welcomed and not hated. It will create RAT runs where people will try to find routes that allow them to work and travel without draconian penalties. And of course it will NOT have any effect on so-called climate change, a process that has been evolving (Warming) for the last 11,000 years and where Midlander's sit today was at one time covered by a layer of ice ONE MILE THICK. (Climate change as everybody should know is caused by small changes in the elliptical orbit of the Earth and changes in the axis on which our planet spins which varies between 22Deg and 25 Deg) I can remember the clean air acts of the 1960's that did all that was needed to improve air quality - JOB DONE ! It is yet another example of all politicians who HATE anyone who drives and who looks upon motorists as some sort of "cash cow" who they intend to rob and rip off to the maximum. It seems that politicians find out what people want AND THEN DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will I vote for any politician who want to reek such a disastrous policy on the West Midlands ?, no NO NOOOOOO !!!!!! Every morning when I awake I know that the world is a WORSE place due to the actions of politicians who are only interested in IMPOSING their will on the people of this country - Democracy SOME BIG SICK JOKE !!!!! WE MUST get rid of any politician who fights against the will of the people !
@@lukemorris1993 Not quite. Privately owned electric scooters are illegal, but they have made the rental ones legal, even though they that are continually left cluttering the streets and making them impassable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

The Labour MP, Mr Khalid Mahmood said that the Labour Party was a party of Justice and Equality. Where is the justice when simply the clean air charge is made on domestic vehicles that are older than the year 2006? Surely this is simply discrimination against older vehicles! Those elderly people who have retained their older cars simply to pick up their heavy WEEKLY shopping from the local supermarket a mile down the road and thus may do say a couple of miles per week, would be charged this tax. Those who have classic cars (less than 40 years old) may do just a couple of miles per week to keep their cars running. Whereas the vehicles after 2006 would not be charged, even though they may run around in Birmingham all day long causing congestion and emissions. Although the emissions are lower for newer vehicles, nonetheless emissions are still being generated. Besides, according to research, 50% of emissions are generated through brakes, tyres and wear on the road. This means even electric cars would cause a lot of emissions! To conclude:- emissions are dependent on a vehicle’s use and NOT on the rate of emissions a vehicle is capable of generating, as it is being measured at present.
Beware everyone you will not get refunded if you put in the wrong license plate or date, no measures have been put into place prevent these every errors that we humans make, this is obviously deliberate profiting those who are in error despite their circumstances and reasons for having made the error . From legal standpoint this is in every sense illegal.
