...New st...was much better then...& far more interesting...47's & 86's were far better than these Boring Virgin Pendolino's..which once you have seen ONE ..you've seen them all...

@@RichardW23613Tyseley was going through a phase of acquiring any and every serviceable DMU power car to form up their ‘Go-Faster’ sets for the Cross City line due to the delays in Class 323 introduction and pressing need to retire the 304 fleet. The Reading and Old Oak Common 117s were being displaced by Turbos at the time, so provided a source of units. (I think a 119 unit made it into the Tyseley fleet, complete with Reading-Gatwick branding!)
