Mendip Stone trains filmed on the Merehead & Whatley Quarry branches.
Unfortunately 59104+59201 and some wagons derailed overnight on the 5th & 6th within the Merehead Complex totally blocking the quarry for the day so I went back on the 9th to get some footage on the Merehead branch when things were running again.
Footage also from the Whatley Railhead,arrivals,shunting with the resident EMD Switcher.

How do you get soooo close to the Trains down by that tunnel???

There’s a public footpath up to the line & you can see the fence in the shot so easy access😎👍🏼

Great video Dave. It's great to see footage on these two busy freight only branches. Talking about branches but in different context; I liked the shots behind the branches of the trains passing by. Very atmospheric and beautiful in its own way. ATB. Ben

Thanks Ben,it’s was 2 lines that I’ve wanted to film for a while & was happy with the results😎Under the trees was a total fluke as it was pouring with rain and didn’t want to waste the shot but came out excellent😎😎Cheers Dave
