After Fred has got the goal and the boys surround him you can smell the atmosphere. This is what the cup WAS all about.

I was 10 and my brother was 13. We caught bus at Hall Green terminus, got off at Camp Hill flyover and got in the ground when the gates opened at 1. Never saw the ball hit the back of the net. Just remember the cross coming over. Great days. Can still name that Chelsea team off Bonetti, Osgood, Tambling, McCready, Harris, Hollins etc...

What A Difference, then and now,55 years later. Massive crowd, mostly choosing to stand. Cheap to get in.Right on top of the pitch on all sides. Now,much more expensive and have to sit and advertising hoardings in all the rows near the pitch with the crowd right back.
