I am mesmerized by the natural beauty of the somali women in the old days. Their faces beautiful and glowing without makeup or bleaching unlike what we see nowadays with the new generation.

The sad reality is there are a lot of Educated Somalis who can change the whole nation within a decade but our biggest problem is that Somalis aren't nationalist, the people don't have an incentive to go back to their country to try and build it. As you know, when you are educated you will get a stable life and more income in the West, so people don't come back to Somalia. Everyone is waiting someone else to change the country.

If you go to Mansoor Hotel in Hargeisa they have a number of good historical books and photos too. Book fairs in the town were also very exciting. Am not Somali but I could see a community that wanted to learn , knowledge and to thrive.

It is a little bit painful to watch to see how far this nation went back ages back. Nevertheless, we can focus on the future, rebuild our country, and even put our nation far better than before. That needs leadership with purpose and plan !.
All that is shown in the video were empty slogans designed to cover up the true intentions of the ill-fated Dictatorial regime of tyrent Dictator Siad Barre who shot dead the Somali nation and turned it to a number of savage-like tribes who have canibalized their country. What is required is not only good leadership. The Somali people need also to understand that loyalty to state is far better and more beneficial than loyalty to clan and narrow personal interests.
Watching this documentary made me cry, it not inform us of the potential and the power of collective work and national building. Once capable people blessed with the beautiful land and resources - have now reduce global beggars. Living on the generosity of others due to primitive, unrelenting and insidious power of tribal politics millions have perished and what was built and achieved was destroyed.
