The delivery of our little girl, Story, who was born with her intestines and stomach outside of her body. Instagram: Anna.Pouch Gmail: MidwestMomAC@gmail.com
You probably already know this and have asked about it, but just in case it slipped your mind or for anyone else reading this. Ask about helping to hold her up briefly while they change out her bedding. I was able to do that after his first heart surgery. That brief 1 minute or whatever it was, was really nice for me. It's not the same as snuggling but it is a good opportunity for some touch time. It may not be possible for her yet, but it never hurts to ask! (Especially with you being a nurse you are more comfortable with the wires and lines.) Lots of love and prayers for her and your whole family. Keep up the good work little miss!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You are an amazing and strong mom. Story is so blessed to have you and Luke as parents. I will be praying and love watching your videos. You are a very special person.♥️
You continue to amaze me. Definitely one of the strongest women I've seen. Congratulations to you, Luke, and the siblings. I'm sure Story will come through this battle like a warrior just like her mom. God Bless
My son is 20 and had gastroschisis. He is absolutely fine today. No restrictions. He had to get a J-tube because bowels did not want to cooperate. Also no C section. Why did they say you needed C section? Just curious. Best to you all! NICU nurses are angels on earth!
My gastroschisis 32 wk baby is turning 11 now. Still all so fresh, still like it was yesterday. Being told he has gastroschisis, the pregnancy monitoring, the hospital stay, delivery and then icu stay. We got to hold him at 2 weeks for the first time and he came home at 5 weeks. And still only a tiny little 5lb 4oz bundle of joy! Now he's a happy healthy 11yr old. Still has issues with food but that is still improving and I hope one day he will be able to eat whatever he likes and enjoy it ❤ best of luck with your brave little baby ❤ and congratulations 🎊
Oh Anna I’m so very happy for you! I know things have been a whirlwind, but what a beautiful blessing that you both are doing as well as could be expected u see the circumstances. She’s gorgeous with that full head of hair!! Sending you both healing ❤️🩹 thoughts! Hugs momma!
Congratulations!👶💐 I'm so glad Story is doing well. Prayers for a speedy recovery and discharge from the NICU. 🙏 Sending lots of hugs and love to you all as well.❤🤗
Congratulations! The NICU is so hard! My granddaughter was almost 6 weeks early, due to placenta abruption, her NICU stay was almost a month. I hope your little one continues to do better each day!
I’m so glad that your precious Story is here and doing well💕 I know the NICU journey is hard and overwhelming and I totally understand your feelings sitting and watching as a nurse…while other nurses care for her…sometimes being a nurse can be a curse when it’s our own, try to remember that they are probably very aware that you are a nurse as well and so sometimes that can make them nervous/tense as well. I’m so so happy for you and Luke and thrilled that you have such an amazing partner now , you are so deserving of that and always have been. Sending you love, support and prayers as always, I can’t wait to follow this journey with you too ❤️ your RN friend from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 ps she’s beautiful and you are glowing!!
SO happy to see this vlog!! Im continuing to pray for your sweet family and loved hearing things are improving! Congratulations on the birth of your precious Story!
I am so so so happy for you, she's here, it's different than you expected but she's safe, you did a great job mama. Seriously! You kept her safe, YOU did that. Breathe, take care of yourself, and know that she's amazing ❤
I'm so happy everything went well. Not as well as expected, but story is here safe and sound. She's a cutie!! Little fuzzy heads make me smile 😊 I hope your recovery from a c section is going okay.
Congratulations! I’ve been here since your move back to Alabama and have loved getting to know you and your story. You are so strong, God blessed you with Luke and baby Story ♥️ Keeping y’all in my prayers.
Congratulations Anna!! she is beautiful, I been thinking and praying about you two. My cousin had a son like your daughter almost exactly 11 years ago and he is doing amazing, I'm sure your daughter will be the same way.
Your story is so incredible! Congratulations!!! Your attitude is so inspiring. I can’t imagine going through all of this but I’m so glad to hear there were so many positives like her size and that she’s doing well overall! Thinking of you guys through all of this❤️❤️❤️❤️

First of all, congratulations! I wanted to let you know I have a family friend who’s son was born with his bowls on the outside. He is now 21 and as healthy as can be. ❤
Thank you for sharing your birth story!! I will have my baby girl in 5 weeks or sooner. I’m 31 weeks and 3 days with our baby and she has Gastroschisis as well and they are telling me it’s just her small bowel out as well. So thankful your baby girl is doing so good now
I have only one kid I had him at 44 years I had him tommy at two months early because my blood pressure was very very high and he was two pounds 15 ounces I was In the hospital for nine days he was in the NICU he's six and half years old now he's a great kid I am glad you are ok and had a safe delivery hope the baby getting out of the NICU and home with you guys soon. .
Watching this made me super emotional because it brought me back to when I had my daughter just 9 months ago (with an Omphalocele). Seeing my baby hungry and not being able to eat was one of the hardest things. She could never get satisfied from a pacifier and just having her TPN. They would let me wet a sponge with sterile water to wet her mouth and also give her sucrose sometimes. They also let me wet her pacifier with my colostrum. The early days are so hard, wishing your sweet girl a fast and smooth recovery 🤍
My granddaughter was born with gastroschisis last year (just intestines) and she is now doing great. She has some issues with her bowels occasionally depending on what she eats, but that is to be expected. I am glad that your daughter is doing well overall.
Remote, musical card scale, themoter, watch, car keys toys, etc Musical cards, other electronic, they put babies at risk 😭 of swollowing bottom battery and warn others ⚠️❤️
I have been here with you for years! I honestly cannot believe how brave you are. I’m so happy for you with your marriage and now your sweet baby!! ❤ You deserve it!!
Mot all new parents are aware babies at risk of swollowing bottom battery that kills them , like remote, musical card, scale, themoter, watch, car keys etc 💔😭
1. That was my thought when you said 7lbs wow. 2. Story Ryan 😍 love the name. Where does Ryan come from? I can't remember if you mentioned it before. And 3. My husband - how does that feel to say ❤
Congratulations Anna and Luke. I can't wait to really see her face close and you holding her. I will keep praying for story. I keep watching for video. So happy for you she was 7 lb and fell of hair.
Don't let the doctors tell you if you have a c section, you can't have a natural birth, I had two c sections and one natural after the c sections. Sending lots of prayers 🙏, Lots of 💕.
Anna I have been praying for you and her and have been thinking about you . Your not alone God is in control sweet new mama 😊❤ big hugs welcome to our wild world story 😊
Awww Anna I have been praying for all of you and precious Story. And she will have a story to tell as she grows so her name is fitting too. You are just the best mom and I know she will be ok and I am praying for quick healing and hoping soon you can hold her and bring her home to your precious family.
Congratulations on the arrival of Story. Your pregnancy with her has gone so quickly. It sounds like she is making good progress in the NICU. Keeping everything crossed that her recovery continues well. 😊
I'm an old NICU RN and took care of many gastroschisis infants with varying degrees of abdominal defects. I'm sending you so much love, comfort and blesssings! I do Reiki now and will add your baby and family to my list.🤗💙
