This nail-biting intense drama proves how far a mother will go for justice. 42-year-old Nanna has invited her daughter Cille along on a cruise to celebrate her 18th birthday, with the hope of restoring their relationship after a tiring divorce. But what was meant to be their dream trip to the Carribean soon turns into a living nightmare, when the daughter is raped on their first night onboard the ship. However, international waters are outside any police jurisdiction, and neither the shipping company nor the crew are interested in ruining the party onboard. Therefore, it is solely up to Nanna to find the perpetrator before he leaves the ship 48 hours later. Starring Trine Dyrholm (Margrete: Queen of the North), Flora Ofelia Hofmann Lindahl, Herman Tømmeraas (Ragnarok), and Maja Ida Thiele, Birthday Girl is directed by Michael Noer (Papillon) from a script he co-wrote-with-Jesper-Fink (Before Frost).

The language spoken was Danish, but the guy, Herman Tømmeras, is indeed Norwegian, but as the Scandis tend to understand each other regardless of the Scandinavian language, there are often actors from the other countries in the movies ☺️

I keep thinking of Natalie Holloway's mom, giving her 16-year-old cart blanche on behaviors in an adult setting which can find every young girl "wanting to be older". And a table with two 15-year-old friends and Natalie wanting to show THEM that "she's old enough." Yeah. To be murdered. The killer has gotten away with it so far, and probably will always laugh that he has - but he's been identified and imprisoned somewhat. Thanks for this trailer, though... I know I won't be seeing THIS film about THAT topic.

Jordan van Der sloot did kill Natalie. He took a plea deal in 2023 admitting his guilt. Also, Natalie Holloways mother was not involved in the SCHOOL trip to Aruba. It was a trip for (18 years Olds= legal) from Natalie's GRADUATING class. So yeah, Natalie was 18 years old. Her mom just signed a consent form like every other students parent there. Natalie went with her fellow but the trip was put on by the high school Natalie attended. There were school appointed chaperones on every floor of the hotel. Natalie was NOT 16 years old and her mom did not offer "carte Blanche" because Natalie was by all legal standards an ADULT at 18 years old. You need to brush up on your understanding before posting awful things that aren't true.

Its a movie, People, Dont Look & Bitch At Discrepancies bcz ALL Movies have them, Even DOCUMENTARIES Do! Rapes, Murders (Sharks Hide the Bodies Quite well), Kidnappings (Young Women Into Sexual Bondages) all happen But Little gets publicized bcz Cruise Ship Company Owners Are Rich, rich, rich To Silence the "Stories" . Remember, People Cruise ships Are Not Heavenly Vacations & Escaping "Realities" For Booze & Drugs Binges Does Have a High Price tag. Depends on the cruise line. If it is an American based cruise ship it is 21 and older. Europeans are 18 and up.

If not, please stop using the words "own" and "purchase" when referring to streaming content.
