I think I agree with you about the pictures Kenneth. Being in a place of such death would be emotionally draining for any one as well as some feelings of grief. Thank you for sharing such a hard thing with the world. I agree that every one should know about not just this place but how much is still going on in the world and has gone on in so many other places.

Te problem with the selfies is that they don't share the history, they share the pictures to show off and get "clicks", and try to present themselves as better than they are because they have visited these historical places. If you ask any of these so-called influencers about what actually happened at the site, only a fraction know anything about the history of the site. It's different when it is done the way you did it here, when you actually talk about the historic events.

Happy birthday (belated, probably)! Thank you for this extremely important video. We Germans especially have reasons to get worried these days that such atrocities might indeed happen again, with facist parties on the rise. Hard to believe with our history, but true, unfortunately.

It's sad to see how antisemitism is raising everywhere in the west these days. and actually, the Socialists is the worst now. At least Germany have got some antisemitism-laws now... hopefully those will work.

For me, watching Auschwitz in your video is good enough. I feel claustrophobic just watching it. I don't meed to ever go visit that place. It would give me great anxiety, potentially even a panic attack. It looks very somber inside there. Glad you shared cause I do not have to ever go there.

Happy Belated Birthday! I'm of two minds about people taking selfies, etc at places like that. One is like you; it is just a place now it shouldn't matter that people take pictures of themselves there but one on the other hand it was not my loved ones or family members killed there.

Hehe yeah I can see the arguments. But I wouldn’t care if someone danced on my grandmas grave or had a whole photos on on top of it. She is dead. She doesn’t feel anything regardless. Once a body is dead you can do whatever you want to it and nobody should really care because it’s dead. We hand dead animals on the wall. That is a lot more grotesque I would say 😅

Happy Birthday, kid. Yeah, just a touch of a dichotomy visiting Auschwitz on your day. Very sweet people at the beginning. I spent some time in Czechia (Prague and Pilsen). I've also been to the site of the Bergen-Belsen camp. Somber is right. I've never been around that many people, being completely quiet. -As for the picture thing. I agree that taking pictures isn't wrong. Sharing the experience, especially for people never visiting there in life, is a good thing. But the shot of the languid/sensual pose of the woman on the tracks, seems disrespectful. It's not like she is at a tropical resort so it's creepy. Other people who include themselves in the shot, just seem to be doing the "proof they were there" sort of thing, which can happen anywhere. By comparison, the Bergen-Belsen site has very little left of the actual camp. They have a visitor building with exhibits and then large fields of memorials over the mass graves. Well, at least you'll remember where you were for your birthday and probably forget the irritation with finding an accommodation afterwards. I'm short on cash right now, otherwise I would send a few USD's to take the sting out of the hotel room price. Ride safe.

Don't think your Birthday is a good day to visit such a terrible death camp. Watching this video has been very somber. Another reminder of how cruel man can be and has been and sadly likely to continue. Happy belated Birthday Kenneth! Stay warm and safe 🎉🎉

Curiosiy enough, I took Lina here on here birthday. As yiu say, everyone should go, at least once. Pictures can be respectful or disrespectful. This is a war grave, a historical site, and in modern parlance a crime scene. Where the worst atrocities imaginable took place. It is not a place to be treated disdainfully. In my opinion. There is a saying. History is written by the victors. Ride safe.

huh... That's a strange birthday gift 😅 I get that some pictures provokes certain emotions or whatever. But a picture is just a picture. I dont think it is disrespectful to show videos or pictures of massacres or of influences posing in front of death camps regardless of why they were taken. when I am dead I dont think it is disrespectful to do anything with my dead body. If someone wants to stuff me and hang me naked on their wall and shoot porn movies there nobody should care. I'm dead. Getting offended is nobody else's fault but ones own. I get offended by every single religious symbol and comment I see. I think pushing god on people is a million times worse than any picture anyone can ever take because that actually can have real world effects. and if people do get offended, so what? why is that a bad thing? maybe it could help with gaining new perspectives on things? 🤔 But thats just my opinion 😅

Others do not believe as you, mainly the descendants of those killed there. In the Jewish faith, remembering the names is how you keep folks "alive", so it is important to remember and be respectful. Kinda disappointed you don't get it. Wow "Nobody talks about it" - Dude, I really suggest you start talking to different people. Folks in my circles are aware and talk about "it". I am part indigenous north American, noticed you didn't address that genocide... interesting, like you said, folks pick and choose their history.

it is indeed a strange way to celebrate your birthday, but on the other side you show respect to the people that were killed in that camp, and I agree everyone should visit a camp just to see that it was an horror and be aware that there are humans who are ready to kill others just because they have a different religion, color, and so on....

Id say posing in a vain or crude/insincere manner would be disrespectful, not simply having a picture taken, I wouldnt want a picture taken of me there personally, at least not intentionally

Interesting is a good word for such a terrible place. I would love to visit there and reflect upon what their lives must have been like. Your birth was a disaster? Wow, why do you say that? Happy Birthday, Kenneth.
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 8 месяцев назад
Thank you 😊 hehe yeah. it is a very strange place to be. hehe about my birth I just feel like I shouldn't be here and that everyone would be better off without me 😅 And I guess a visit here just confirmed even more how little value a person has. But that fact makes life a lot easier to live too. Because since nothing matters and nobody is worth anything there is no reason to be afraid of anything. so in a strange way it makes life better knowing you mean nothing. it takes all worries away and just lets you enjoy each moment instead of looking at it as a whole.

@@RidetheBean Why would you even think that you don't matter? Many people, including myself, would love to do what your are doing, but because of our age, or finances, are not likely to do it. We can see it through YOUR travels. I think you matter a great deal to many of us. Certainly, you are of even greater value to your family and friends. I don't know if you and Marion are romantically involved, but even if not, I have no doubt that she would also be extremely sad if you were gone. When you say that seeing Auschwitz makes you see the meaninglessness of life, that human life holds no value, I disagree. I bet the prisoners wanted to cling to every vestige of life they could. I have no doubt whatsoever that those that survived grieved the loss of the others for the rest of their lives....knowing how valuable human life is. Most sane people see the value in human life, hence, we label such depravity committed by the Nazis, as "brutal" "pure evil" "vile" "heartless" "devilish," etc. It is like with Islamic Terrorists, that also place very little, to no, value on the lives of others. We deem these people mentally insane, or evil, because they have such blatant disregard for the sanctity of the life of another. Ask most of us that enjoy your channel, and listening to what you have to say, if you are worthless and if your life has no meaning, I know that most, if not all of us, would say you are NOT worthless or without meaning. Same with Marion, I have no doubt that lovely woman would say that your life is not meaningless, or empty. If you think that way frequently, Kenneth, please, talk to someone trained to help sort out things in your life.
