NOTE*** You don’t have to add the salt to the biscuit dough… Maybe 1/2 teaspoon would be perfect in this size batch… I just like the little touch of salt taste in the biscuits when I put honey or jelly on them 😊♥️😊

Isn't she great? I just found her the other day and I just love watching her cook. Makes me feel like I'm at home with family learning new things or new ways to do things that I already do. Real downhome cooking from scratch and no fancy camera work or showmanship. Just a welcoming, friendly fun time in the kitchen!

Breakfast for dinner is always a favorite option in my house. I'm awful at making biscuits, but I'm good at making gravy lol. I think I overmix my biscuits or something, but I gave up on trying to make good biscuits forever ago...I'm going to have to get back to practicing until I have it down! Definitely trying your biscuit recipe until I get making biscuits down! Also, you were talking about gravy...I also don't like having chunks of sausage in my gravy (but everyone else does). I like using bacon since it has more grease (plus the flavor is better to me) so what I do is make bacon gravy (I cook the bacon then remove it, add about as much flour as i have grease so it's a thin paste, cook the flour, then add half and half and cook until the gravy is thick). Then after I make the gravy I have a plate of cooked sausage patties so people can break it up and add to their own plate or eat them (or the bacon) on the side as they prefer. I live in a house of men (the kids and the husband) so they never mind having multiple meats lol. Stay blessed, Talli Faye! You got me fired up to finally nail these biscuits now :D

My grandmother made homemade buttermilk biscuits every single day of her life till she had a stroke. They were the best. She'd always pinch of a bit of her dough and throw it into the buttermilk jug she had in her refrigerator and use it in the next days biscuits

Yesss. Love Breakfast Anytime of the Day & Night. I Love French Toast at Night too. I Am going to Make your Buttermilk Biscuits and compare them to my mama’s. She made hers all the time with Buttermilk and Crisco and All Purpose Flour adding Baking Powder and Salt. She never wrote down her recipe and I still remember how hers taste so I’m gonna try yours soon. I like my gravy plain with sausage patties or bacon on the side. Sometimes I crumble my bacon up and put it on top of my biscuit and gravy and it’s delicious Try that one sometime. I love all your recipes. Love your Upbeat Personality. I Ain’t Scared to try anything. That’s how you learn. I’m 71 years old and I still have a problem making biscuits and buttermilk pancake batter. Maybe sometime you can show us how you do your homemade buttermilk pancakes. That would be nice. My mama used to make homemade syrup out of brown sugar, water, butter and vanilla. It was so good. Nothing says comfort food packed with flavor like Biscuits N Sausage Gravy! You know Talli Faye, when you are grating your butter, once you get down to the part you can't hang on to (at any point really, it keeps it from melting better) you can use a fork to hold it. It sounds icky when it hits the grater but I'd rather hear that than the screech I let out when I grate the skin off my fingers!! I LOVE the idea of a T-Shirt! I bet those will go over so well! Congratulations!
Hi Talie,I make my bisquits to, ive never done it with the butter, i usually put crisco with butter but i yhink id like it better with the real butter like you did, cause I love real butter snd im gonna try the sausage gravey like that, looks yummy. Talli Faye... You are an amazing cook. I made homemade biscuits last night with my home canned beef stew and home canned beef stock. It was so good! It's my opinion that the first thing anyone should learn and master is biscuits and gravy. If you can do that well, you can do anything.
I just love watching you so much. You are really a great Southern cooker. Your T-shirts sound fun. I hope you are able to get your cookbook out. I am like you, I really prefer plain gravy without sausage in it. I don't mind using sausage grease to make my gravy. But I'm not much on all the sausage crumbled up in my gravy. A little bit of sausage crumbles wouldn't hurt for breakfast gravy. Just not much sausage crumbles. I like my sausage on the side with a plain gravy with the gravy made from sausage grease. That's how my granny and my mama made it too. Sausage Patty's on the side.

Me too Talli Fay, biscuits and Sawmill gravy. Sausage patties on the side and in the summer have some sliced beefsteak tomatoes to go with it. The gravy is also delicious on top of scrambled eggs. 😅

I haven't had biscuits and gravy since I was a kid. My husband doesn't like it. His mom never made it here in California.He likes biscuits though. But prefers tortillas.lol I'm going to try this and see if he will change his mind.

I feel ya' Mrs. Talli Faye with sharp things. I bought the kid-set knives and and also bought an adult knife....but that adult knife don't get much action. I'd like to try the sausage gravy. Yes..yes..yes..I have this for dinner alot..and I usually fix fried potatoes with it...I also prefer my sausage on the side but my favorite gravy is bacon ..fry up some bacon..leave some bacon grease in pan and oh man..best tasting gravy imo..lol...you done made me hungry ...
My mom made what she called "pan gravy". It was bacon fat and flour, milk, sal and pepper. I actually do prefer that over sausage gravy, but I do love sausage gravy.
