Setting foot in Bishkek, the incredible capital city of Kyrgyzstan, is like stepping back in time to the 1980s. That's not to say there aren't any modern buildings, massive shopping malls, or fast food chains galore (including KFCs on practically every corner). Nonetheless, the Soviet architecture and heritage are omnipresent, down to the towering statue of Vladimir Lenin behind the city's main square, Ala Too.
We caught up with Datka Travel for some amazing trips in and around Bishkek, also visiting the Ala Archa National Park, Chunkurchak, and Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex. If you come to Kyrgyzstan - and you should - Datka Travel will be your first point of contact.
