Most black people are quick to vote their color, political party or anyone with pandering promises for the black community. It gets down to standing on Gods word. The democratic party actually put to vote taking God out of their platform. They support transgender (LGBTQ), abortion etc. Over 63million babies have been aborted since the 1970’s. Personally I believe that this alone has caused a reproach upon this country by God. We need pastors/ Christians to stand up and stand true to Gods word. I can appreciate that exact response in this type of situation. I support someone because that my person. What do, say, believe is compatible and me and mine. You don't have speak against anybody or makeup some reason because think it's inappropriate to support someone(who is also an admired good friend). I can support that all other thing equal. I am so disheartened, and confused right now. I just recently began listening to the teachings of Bishop Wooden, and he appeared to be a fine representative of Gods word. I'm finding it difficult to accept the irreconcilable positions of the two of these men regarding God's word and the policies endorsed by the Democrats. How is it possible to stand in the same pulpit, and preach from the same bible and walk in different directions on such important issues? Please make it make sense. Amen.

Believers don't have to have the same perspective on every single issue to walk united in love. Politics is an inherently secular sphere, and one should not mistake preference for any political candidate or party as approval and endorsement of every single policy position of said candidate or party.

I struggled with this too but what I do applaud Bishop Wooden with doing is respecting leadership. Inspite of what we think, he honors his leader. David was a good example of this, even after being on the run from Saul, he still referred to him as the Lord's anointed.

However, every choice that’s made in Washington affects all of us, every denomination Pentecostal, Baptist, holiness, whoever you identify with we are all affected, we have to find someway to elect the one that will do the least damage to us as a people and want the best for all of us whatever that is as citizens of America, we can still hold our standard high, preach Christ and him crucified, but never negate the fact that we will be affected in some manner. with that being said, why don’t we rally behind real God-fearing believers that would like to run for public office and support them and get them elected with God all things are possible.

Say what you will about Wooden, but Sheard and so many other black church pastors ( I know because I'm a lifelong church kid myself - pentecostal too, seen it all LOL) aren't tap dancing for anything democrat??? What I've been trying to figure out for years now is how a black Christian can understand what the democrat party stands for, yet continue supporting them, all the while claiming Christ....I'm one of the people who figured some stuff out in my late twenties.
