In the military I had read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" and tried applying principles of it to make myself a better war fighter. I decided that since I was told that "our" enemies were Muslims and specifically "Muslim Religious Extremists", I needed to understand their beliefs to understand the mindset of my enemy. I bought a Quran as soon as I set down in country, and began reading/analyzing text and verses from beginning to end. The more I read, the more questions I had from being raised Christian were answered. Common sense things like "Why did God command Monotheism, yet Christians technically did not". Also, what happened to Ishmael? God promised Abraham to give him a nation under God, but he disappeared from the bible. I quickly understood that Muslims were not my enemy as I had been raised to believe, they were My People!

It took me a little longer to accept, but I had a panic attack while looking for the truth. Then I read the Quran where it said, "And we will certainly test you with some of fear, etc." And I've never had a panic attack before or since that understanding. But just like you, every question that gave me doubts about Christianity were answered in Islam. Monotheism was the way of life of all the Prophets of God. The Quran repeats more than once that Abraham was a monotheist (a Hanifah), God is only One, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and everything in them. The most important message the Prophets were to teach their communities was to believe in only One God and to Worship Him alone. Its always been Islam, from the very beginning, i would say even before humans were created, the Angels and the Heavens submitted to God (muslims). The message given to Moises was Islam. The message given to Jesus was Islam. The message given to Muhammad was Islam (peace be upon all the Prophets). The "elites" among the jews and christians went astray and changed with their hands the messages. Thats why so many contradictions and confusion and crazy beliefs that will make some of the followers go as far as killing babies and thinking that thats ok. That God commands them to do that. Yup, unlike most other prophets, Jesus pbuh was ascended to Heaven and is being kept alive for his 2nd coming of which Jesus pbuh after fulfilling his mission as the Messiah, will face death just like other prophets. Despite not having any historical writings during the time of Jesus to account the incident, at least it should have reliable chain of narration up until someone was able to describe the event into writing of which the narrations should be consistent and we knew each one of the narrator's background and whether they were trustworthy and well respected in the society.

Just to clarify, there isn’t a single verse in the Holy Quran that admits Jesus/Isa (as) as god. Quran does obviously state that Jesus/ Isa (as) is a Prophet in multiple verses and rejects Trinity. So no The Holy Quran doesn’t come to a conclusion that Jesus/Isa ( as) is god.
