The best testimony that I've ever heard was from a person who had been set free from the very vice that I was tempted to do. Talk about truly saved and set free, I was. Whom the Son has set free is free indeed.
I agree that it's not required to have experience to minister to people but it certainly helps make your testimony relatable. And it's absolutely false that having an experience with a certain sin disqualifies you from ministering to those who are bound in like manner
I agree with what you are saying on this topic, Bishop. For years, I heard people that were experiencing problems in their marriage, they would say, that only someone married can witness or counsel them. But Jesus, also The Apostle Paul, weren't married. Paul, wrote most of the new testament. Ministered to the Jew and Gentile, gave instruction to the married and unmarried, Paul became all things to men, giving instruction and sound doctrine to the whole body of Christ!
Also Note that, and by definition that: there is a difference in terminologies as relates to...., Bible, and Scripture!!!! Culturally and Theologically socially; we all have subconsciously just accepted and been taught; That The Bible is God's Word!!!!! Actually The Bible as provided through European persuasion is actually limited to 66 Books taken from Old World doctrine that predates 1611!!! The Bible: actually came from The Catholic Church..., this is where we get King James Version from!! Simple/Short: why does it never cross our minds that; Within The Bible (it's self) The Terminology or Word Bible......, is not written within the scripture!!!!!!!! Facts.
@@Akhenaton1906 I am no bible scholar, but a minister, of Jesus Christ. 1st Corinthians 7 vs 8,9. Paul talked about him being unmarried! If I read this, I would take it before he became an Apostle, when his name was changed from Saul to Paul, book of Acts. To him walking fully as an Apostle. No where in scripture, does it say he was married, but unmarried! I am going by the Word of God! Only by the Word of God. Love you much!
@@adriennebattle6030Yes and some scholars contend that "the unmarried" in 1 Cor. 7:8, which Paul pairs with widows and is a group that Paul identifies himself as belonging to, is actually a reference to widowers specifically as there was no specific term in Koine Greek in Paul's day for men whose wives preceded them in death that had not married again. It is the same term used in v.11 to refer to women who were once married but are presently divorced. So we know, at the least, that "unmarried" can refer to persons who had been married in the past but are no longer married presently.

While I don't think he's slamming deliverance ministries, but I disagree with the idea that one can not go back from where and what they have been delivered from to witness. Just be sure that you've really been delivered.
God is brilliant enough to use multiple ways to reach the lost. Sharing the gospel is his main focus. There are those who Paul preached to who Peter would not preach to. God is so much more smarter than us.

@@DerrioTayJohnson-cq1nr are we referencing the same thing. We were referencing a “deliverance ministry” a ministry that focuses on deliverance. In the title of was referencing a “delivered ministry” focusing on a “person” confessing they have been delivered of whatever and that is the focus of that ministry. It was shadowing off of this clip. Given Bishop Wooden was sharing his perspective that people that have been “delivered” of same gender loving relationships should not minister in the area they have been “delivered”. Let me know if this gives better clarity.
It's a thin line because all have falling short of the glory of God. Hiowever I made that mistake to want to go back and evangelize in the places I came out of and it was all feelings but not wise......Those there was not really happy for me but became even more negative and doubtful I would truly make it.....Good Word Bishop
🎉🎉Praise God for good truth preaching. 🎉🎉 I'll just simply say to those that disagree with the ones previously bond but totally set free; that wisdom would always have you attached to credible witnesses when or if you should reach back where you come from!!!! Always have witnesses with you!!! However; I can also agree with Bishop Wooden's angle in his perspective...., because he has his valid points as well!!!! Deliverance ain't nothing to play with: Saint just be careful for nothing as The Scriptures teaches us!!!!!
I heard someone say once that God can take your mess and turn it into a message. There is an authenticity in sharing your testimony with someone who may be going through a similar struggle. . .
Somebody tell this man that Jesus Himself, according to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke are with the Tax Collectors and Sinners! Why would Jesus just go to the Saved, which are saved already and ignore the unsaved? Nobody asked you to party with them or partake in what they are doing, rather go to them right where they are?
@ralphmatthews860 With all due respect to you. Bishop Wooten never said that we should not go among the unsaved. He is simply saying that we need to be delivered before we do.

Next you will be telling that he did not say that they have your Own Standards, and he makes a point on Calling out other people, Obama, Beyonce, Steve Harvey, Kirk Franklin? He never calls himself out with his own shortcomings? I could do that all day long, rather I chose to Preach The Gospel as it is Written, and allow The Lord to deal with those that continue in sin after hearing The Word of God, for it is written "Woe" to the Shepherds that scatter My Flock and turn the people away.

You balance the caution and calling of ministry with making two (2) things a standard : (1) Humility- Lord have mercy on me . I need you to fulfill my calling in ministry because everyone has a ministry in Christ- Matthew 28:18-20 (2) Holiness- 1 Peter 1:15-16
The Bible clearly says come ye out from among them and be ye separate! Not go back and witness to those who practice what you’ve been delivered from! I agree 💯 percent with Bishop Wooden! Even in Alcoholics Anonymous, NA, it clearly tells you that you cannot associate with people that partake in the addictions you have overcome! Former alcoholics are advised not to go to bars under any circumstance, why would you go to a place and “witness” to people who are entangled still in that bondage? The Scriptures say in Galatians 5:1 Stand therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. I know that there are many who may disagree,but the truth will always be the truth!
I agree with his point of view. However, this logic usually works until a single person tells something to a married person and then mysteriously the standard changes. 🤷🏿♂️ Again, I definitely understand the point.
He's correct . How you going to testify what the Lord delivered you from but you still out doing the same thing they still struggling with to get delivered.
So, I get what he is saying but homosexuality cannot be lumped in with other sins and our track record as the BOC should speak to that. At bare minimum they need to understand how to minister to someone trying to come out of it. Folks usually know what the word says concerning this but we fail in our approach.
That’s wonderful. However, please remember you are the exception not the rule. He didn’t say don’t go back, he said be sure you’re delivered and long free from the vice. Pastoral ministry is often criticized but seldom understood.

He’s generalizing …. This does not apply to all who “used” to delve in sinful behavior. For forty years I struggled with homosexual behavior. It wasn’t until I decided enough was enough, I walked away from the lifestyle and have not retuned in over sixteen years and have no desire to return. So, he cannot say deliverance is not possible. It is possible, because I’m walking in it, everyday! Of course repentance is crucial and a major factor in deliverance. Stay connected to God and His might, you will need it to fight through this journey!
Preach Preacher the personification of " sin crouched @ the door..." and know that it has no respect of person. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of Most High God . Repent
Sin also sit dormant until that Pastor, leader or layperson is elevated and will then raise up to destroy everything that they have accomplished. Because the devils start at the head and if these demons can destroy a reputation the consequences is devastating to the body. We can't wait for Sunday or Wednesday we need to be fed daily the Word of God by the Holy Ghost so pray and pick up your bible to cancel the ignorance.
So Paul should not have returned and preached to the places that he persecuted? Or so the woman at the well was wrong when she ran back and told all that Jesus had said. I get his point that he was trying to make but he himself knew that he was contradicting scripture and himself hence is the reason why when he got to the drug addict he tried to clarify himself. I like his preaching but he is a little bit dogmatic and having a crowd that will Amen you can make you keep digging for more without thinking about what you say.
If you are pending Life threatening surgery, would you rather have a recently graduated doctor performing the surgery, or a proven surgeon with years of training and experience? Both are qualified and graduated from the same University.
