Ilia has promised his next fight will be in prime time to someone important or on television or to the fans in Spain and now he's stuck between a rock and hard place. Also he likes the attention of being champion. But he's been champion for 5 months now and hasn't even tried to fight anyone. Iliya is a 1 fight per year guy and that is how its been his whole career in the UFC. He isn't like Holloway or Strickland or Whitaker or Alex Pereira, he's a wait and see fighter and fight once a year fighter. Fighting champions will make far more money and their legacy will be more impressive. Alex and guys like Holloway are more popular than fighters who are more worried about losing their spot. We have too many champions right now with a Boxing mindset and we need more guys like Max and Alex who want to fight to stay sharp!

If you truly look at both of their resumes Max clearly has one of the craziest resumes there is in the UFC. Look who he lost to and you can understand just how great Max is with many thinking he won that 2nd fight against Volk and possibly the first as well.
