2022 and it still the best Moroccan entry ever!

Eurovision has lost itrs meaning. Now most songs are performed in English. We need such lovely songs in differnet languages as in the past. ECS was a perfect brand for better tase from different cultures. We have now a pop song contest in English. No longer a pltaform for bringing multiple choices. Very pity and big shame.

Only the Italians gave this song points...what a shame, it's such a beautiful song.

So underrated! This is so catchy and unique! It's impressive how the orchestra can play so differently to make this sound ethnic/arabic.

Honestly, a live orchestra is what gives a song more liveliness, with a good singer and backup singers, can make a powerful song. [Im a youngin who like old music, I prefer old Eurovision better since it fits my music taste and it just sounds more epic ^^]

Although this song is close to the Turkish taste, Turkey didn't give any points to this song. Even Morocco gave 12 points to Turkey. What a shame.

She is now the diva of arabic world with 500 songs and 41 album and bbc, MTV, Murixdor...awords and midails from diffrent king and president, she was the first artist that introduce a new concept of songs in arab world ''pop style

What is insane is that the worlds biggest music show (when talking about viewers) forbids any live instrumental expression. Esclivemusic is suggesting that there should be a live music option. There are many ways to use a live orchestra, all live where it suits specific songs, ballads, pop etc. - mix sing back with live, or in som cases all sing back. With all the technical solutions of today (keyboards, synths etc.), it is no problem to make sure the sound resembles the original recording

You don't get the point that a new live music-model (of course) has to be different from the way they did in the old days. Many Eurovision-artists the last ten years have been dissatisfied with the current system. But you never hear about that in the media. I always enjoy watching the ESC, but live music would make it even better. It could attract more famous artists and remove some of the B-category-feeling which is associated with the sing back-model

Denmark did not offer any orchestra. It was NOS (Dutch public broadcaster) which offered the Metropole Orchestra to the organizers for free as a regular house orchestra, to be used for the contest annually. The Metropole Orchestra was, and still is, one of the leading pop orchestras in the world and its musicians have a regular state salary, meaning they do not have to be paid an extra fee for a gig such as Eurovision. But the EBU and organzisers didn't want anything of it.

All of them - without a single exception - agreed that the Eurovision Song Contest would be better off with live music!

Yet another song for which it wasn't the time, like Sama or Minn Hinsti Dans from the 90s. In these two's case, the songs were too avant garde, while in Bitaqat Hub's case, the public wasn't used to this type of arab music.

You should read through some of my articles before claiming this non-sense. Almost all modern music can be reproduced live. It's simply a matter how you put together the orchestra/band. Professional musicians have no problem playing 40 pop songs.

continuing from the last post: So even if a organizing broadcaster would want to offer a live orchestra, this would not be possible according to the present rule of the contest. So today the biggest anual music show in the world has an effective ban on live music. And that's is simply ridicolus. And it's time that people relize it.

A unique ESC gem. That's what ESC is best for.

I work in theatre as a conductor and keyboardist on big touring Broadway musicals. It's no problem for live musicians to synch with rock songs with the right arrangements and click-tracks. Even pre-programmed keyboard sounds can played by an actual human. I can also tell you from my own experience the more a performance hinges on today's digital sound consoles and their operators for reproduction, the more it can crash and go horribly and *silently* wrong. Live music is always better!

Actually a beautiful song. Its s pity that Morocco only had that only entry!

Apparently, this is the only song in Eurovision to have been performed in Arabic. Sad to see how low it placed, but glad to see that Samira Said is doing better than ever nowadays.

If you took time to read about what our lobby-group is working for, you would realise that our campaign is not about nostalgia. We propose that that a modern, versatile live orchestra should be introduced in the Eurovision Song Contest as an optional feature. And in addition artists should be able to use live instruments on stage. And actually today the organizers have no choice, since 2004 EBU have banned all kind all live music by rule.

One of my top 5 in this edition, despite its poor rate on those days.

An orchestra cannot and should not fit a DJ, but live orchestration can be added to a pre-recorded rythm track (like Pall Oscar's "Minn hinnsti dans, Iceland 1997) or be mixed live by a DJ.

I think if the competition is being held today, this song would probably be doing a lot better. There are a lot more middle eastern people living in Europe now and I am sure they will appreciate the sound of this song which was probably deemed too exotic by most Europeans back in 1980.

This is one of my favourite entries only second to mono i agapi from cyprus

Obviously every performance is a little bit different and the sound will need tweaking but every decent engineer should be able to manage it, especially with the amount of prep time available at Eurovision. We do stuff A LOT more complicated with half the time or even less available.
