It looks outdated today but this game was revolutionary when it came out. Dancing like that had never been done on PS2-level hardware, it really paved the way for today's visuals.
Yeah the graphics on modern elections are more crisp and detailed but elections back then actually shipped feature complete and weren't full of bugs and microtransactions.
Oh yes I remember all the tv networks trying to out CGI each other in the 2000s. I remember an Australian network would animate a bunch of dominos representing candidates that the reporter could "Punch" and they would topple over if they were out of the race for parliament. Felt so unnecessary lmao.
@@hannah42069Not really. 2005 was the year the 360 came out. The PS3 was just a year away. HL2, Doom 3, FarCry and F.E.A.R. were released by then as well. RE4 on the GameCube was a stunner too. At best, it looks like a low-budget, early PS2 game with a slightly higher polycount to justify making individual fingers but not animating them. There's not even the justification on a lot going on. While I'm certain that they probably couldn't make it state of the art for the era, they could have either gone on par or did without.
A lot of people questioning why this looks so bad compared to video games/movies of the time. Probably because it's made for the news in a very short amount of time. This isn't a big Hollywood blockbuster.
