I love Sean Perry wearing a $1000 Sweater and leaving the tags on so he can return it after the tournament.. I love even more Addamo calling him out on it 😂
I'm playing mid stakes online and I have to admit it is tough; you have to try and go for thin value and you have to bet for equity protection (that one doesn't make much sense in this hand with the A already on board and a K improving his hand) but at the same time if you barrel too much you get these gross raises. I have to say against tough players you check back that hand on the flop and bet or call the turn along with your top pair weak kickers; as played he should have checked back the turn for sure. When are you getting 3 streets for value with second pair top kicker? You want a check through on at least one street if not two (hopefully river) and show it down for a small to medium sized pot unless it improves. Even if you make KQ two pair on the end you still don't necessarily want all of your chips in there unless you're certain AK/AQ/AA/KK/QQ is shoving pre flop and even then JT still is out there though the off-suit combos only likely if they were deeper and/or turn checks through since the off-suit combos only call turn with implied odds I suspect (lots of bro's slow play QQ these days it seems, I think it's both to trap but also to make sure there is no A/K on the flop before shipping it but few combos of that).
Nah, you have range advantage on that board, you continue turn you'll get a lot of check backs the river. The kq is pretty high up in your range there, you bet for both protection and value. When you get shoved on, there are so many more bluff combos to value you have to call. You unblock all the draws, addamo is raising most a-x pre. Especially since it's adammo who will be finding additional bluffs seeing as you are calling for your tournament life with two short stacks. Just world class by both players, they played it perfectly
Kinda makes sense as a bluff catch given Addamo will be 3 betting or shoving most Ax pre and will be massively over bluffing this spot to put ICM pressure.
@@xbox3601234recks I think he thinks Qx is a better blufcatcher here, because it blocks most of Addamo's two pair. He probably thinks Addamo rejams or 3 bets most of his Ax preflop in this chip distribution. So he might bet-fold some aces, but call off with strong Qx.
Very marginal. Flush draws and straight draws are still a possibility, so ir's still tough ICM-wise. But then again, even though he is 2nd in chips, the difference between him and the 3rd and 4th aren't big, so maybe it can still be justified?? I dunno... Feels like there's a better spot to risk it all than here.
The reason he can put massive ICM pressure on Soverel is because it’s correct to fold marginal hands like this specifically because of ICM. It could very well be a +chipEV call but that doesn’t mean it’s correct with 4 left in a tournament.
Icm isn't really a factor at this point in the hand. Contrary to popular belief after the bubble, icm pressure becomes less and less significant closer you get to heads up. At the point addamo shoves, sams stack is not significantly bigger than the short stacks. If he had 10,000,000 left sure maybe u told then because even addamo would have to worry about losing his chip lead at that point which would probably make him a bit more value heavy.
That kq fold isnt hard to get away from, i honestly dont know what these commentaters are smoking to justify that call is kind of gross at these stakes
@@jordansmith2647 You're exactly right. You don't go all in with just KQ-Q on the turn and while being second in chips. Yes, the pot was big, but so what. That's an easy fold.
@@jordansmith2647 maybe u should watch and listen to commentators and players... addamo is a player who puts in money with a lot of 3x spade. 45 spade. Only spades or diamonds. And these players don't care about ICM much because they go for a win and if they are favorite in this spot they'll go for it... it wasn't "easy" fold.. it is close one and somervel decided to take high way route... he is remarkable player.. and instead of thinking and tanking for no reason he had math running through his brain... I hate when people in tournaments tank for no reason when u think they are just dumb aces who don't understand math behind things... Question yourself not these top pros.. if you say it is an easy lay down or it should've been a check.. you are terrible player... these guys are amazing and strategic...
This is just another example on why having such a wide range really at any given moment can be such a massive benefit when you actually do have a monster. Yeah he ended up losing the hand, but he got his opponent to put in his entire stack for his tournament life with middle pair and 8 outs once. Not to mention successfully drained his opponents time bank, lol.
Adammo ended up shipping it all in preflop against Soverel with 10-J of diamonds. Soverel tanked and called with Ace-Jack, adammo binked a 10 on the turn, lol rungood
I think this is a call against Adamo considering the player and the diversity of draws that he can have on that spot. Knowing that, checking turn might be an option, bluff catching river
I would honestly put him in 4-5 of spades. He called the river, then gained additional outs with the 6 of spades, all-in with that would make the most sense.
Addamo was very far ahead when he went all-in. Soveral made a very tough but "bad" call with a pair against Addamo's two-pairs but then drew to a higher two-pair on the river.
He’s casually calling out Sean Perry for Leaving the tags on his expensive sweater so he can return it the next day.. Prob did it cause Perry was quite the Toolbag during this event

I can get behind the flop bet but I think he's too thin to bet the turn there. I know he doesn't want to give the possible draws a free card but you're not getting 3 streets with second pair anyway. He could have saved himself a ton of grey hairs lol.
It’s a losing call. Your hand is not even a pure bluff catcher to the xraise shove and given ICM doesn’t warrant a call. Oop’s Draws do not shove all in that often given small stack sizes and ICM considerations especially with no overcards + flush draws kind of hands. Exploitatively, I think Addamo’s shoving range is slightly under luffed while I think his non all in xraise is bluff heavy. Unnecessary waste of time bank chips and way too much moving around.
well kinda a call because Adamo would for sure vs that size OTT take Qx and 3x spades and shove all in to make Soverell fold weak Ax possibly or to make broadway gutters to fold because they will barell him OTR of a Q or a 3 for sure.
Someone explain to me how someone saying they're betting "to protect their hand" isn't a BS think to say. He bet 300k into 1.9M "to protect his hand." I call BS.
Probably the most boring hand I’ve ever watched. Is this the current state of poker? Bore off fellas zzzz Thank Christ for the 15sec skip button, I say.
Sucks for Addamo. Totally outplays Sam, gets him to put all his chips in as a huge dog. Sam is trying to give his chips away, but then his plan backfires and the dealer bails him out. Skill game.
It was bad play from addamo,he put himself into a situation that he couldn't talk himself out of.he should have checked on the turn, river would have came king and he would have gotten away from the hand cheaply.the line he went with made no sense
