Björneborgarnas Marsch [Finnish march] [English and Swedish lyrics] 

A poem by Johan Ludvig Runeberg that was written to a marching song from the 1700s with an unknown composer. The song is about the Björneborg/Pori regiment who under the leadership of General von Döbeln during the battle of Jutas defended the Swedish army's retreat in the Finnish war of 1808-1809. The first strophe has been made iconic with it's nostalgic and patriotic words remembering the wars that Sweden and Finland endured together as the same country and the blood that was shed by Finnish and Swedish men and boys on the fields of Narva, sands of Poland, plains of Leipzig and hills of Lützen aswell as many others places.
