B J Thomas had a lot of great songs in the 60's-80's. He is best known for "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" from the 1969 movie "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid". But he had a lot of other great songs such as "I Just Can't Help Believin'", "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song", "Don't Worry Baby", "No Love At All", "Mighty Clouds Of Joy", "The Eyes Of A New York Woman", "Rock & Roll Lullaby" etc. Sadly he passed away in 2021.
When I was a little girl in 1968-69 he sung a song for the 1968 movie starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford called “Raindrops keep falling on my head “. That was my favorite.
His other great song, "Eyes of a New York Woman"!!!!!! Recorded at the same studio that Elvis recorded "Suspicious Minds" and "Kentucky Rain" with the same studio musicians. Also Neil Diamond's "Brother Loves Travelin Salvation Show".
Written by American Mark James in '68 who also wrote some of Elvis Presley's big hits...best version imho, was by 'Blue Swede' in '74...so much Fun...😂 Great stuff.
"Using Things and Loving People" has a GREAT and TIMELESS Message! Amazing Reactions as always...I appreciate you J, from beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada! S.
I was thinking the same thing but she would never expect that intro. Most people's reaction would be like what in the world? I'll have to search and see if B.J. had any comments about it when he first heard it. Jayy if you listen to the Blue Swede version keep in mind they were a Swedish band. So, whatever their inspiration was for that intro your guess is as good as mine.
