my favorite BJ Thomas song. I almost cry everytime I hear it. my late wife used to sing this to the kids when they were babies. this and "you are my sunshine" really take me back to late 70's/early 80's when she and I were barely 20 and starting our family. Miss ya hon, see you soon.

BJ Thomas had a beautiful voice. It is music like this that saved lives as it did mine. At the brink of depression, during my early teens and twenties, from the loss of my brother and my best friend, nobody could reach me except these songs. The songs touched my heart and calmed my tormented mind. I often wonder if these artists realize just how precious their music is.

Thank you guys, I forgot about this song. It is similar to my story. My mom was young when she had my sister and I came along 3 years later. My mom instilled a love of music in me since I can remember. My mom would sing or hum music to us when I was very little. many years later and it reminds me of her love and hard work. One of the most beautiful male voices ever. I taught myself to sing by listening to his records as well as a few other great singers. Other great songs include: "Hooked on a Feeling", "Don't Worry Baby", "I Just Can't Help Believing", "Eyes of a New York Woman" and many others, including Country Hits from the Eighties like "Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Love" and "New Looks from an Old Lover" and several wonderful Christian albums like "Home Where I Belong". The great Duane Eddy on guitar and is that the Beachboys, NO but many many people have thought so. BJ Thomas created all of the background music if you didn't know better you'd think the Beachboys were singing backup. A really cool song.

Another classic artist you should check out is Neil Sedaka, who had many hits in the 60’s and some in the 70’s one song “Breaking up is hard to do” a fast version in the 60’s and a wonderful slow version in the 70’s also in the 70’s “Laughter in the Rain” AWESOME hit!!!!! In the 60’s “Happy Birthday sweet sixteen” “Calendar Girl” “Oh Carol” about when Carol King was his girlfriend.

That's Duane Eddy on the twangy guitar. A fine tune written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. The Blossoms are singing backup with others. When this came out many people thought the Beach Boys were on this track...they weren't. Several members from the Wrecking Crew also participated.

The guitar solo was by Duane Eddy, who had a huge hit with "Rebel-'Rouser". BJ Thomas did the song "I Just Can't Help Believing" by the couple that wrote this song - Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
