You, too? (Hugs) We've got this. I always talked about how BJ's kindness showed all in his face and eyes. Let's imagine that kind grin of his if he has some way of knowing that we're still here listening and reliving pleasant memories that he's a part of.
I feel the same way. The news of B.J. Thomas' passing breaks my heart. I've been listening to his songs since this morning, after hearing the news of his passing. He has been one of my crushes and one of my favorite country singers since I was a young, teenage girl back in the 80's. I love his beautiful, sparkling eyes and smile. And that voice! Heaven sent! Rest in peace, B.J. Thomas. You are forever loved and missed.
Been listening to him since I was a kid. Glad this song was my husband and mine song he said this was the song that made him want to marry me well part of the reason any way. Just wish I hadn't lost him to cancer
Jan 19, 2020: I grew up listening to BJ Thomas while in high school....thanks. I dedicate this song to Sgt Manuel R. Martinez, 23, who was killed in an auto accident on Aug 22, 1975 south of Santa Fe. Driving back to Albuquerque after a work week at the Farmington mines, he lost control and rolled his 240Z Datsun. He trained as a Marine at Camp Pendleton (radio operator), served a year in Okinawa and was a member of the VFW & Carpenters Union. (Since I was still in high school, we exchanged letters often. By the time I graduated, I knew I had fallen in love with him.) Manuel graduated from West Mesa High School in 1970 and participated in track & field. Manuel's shy grin, warm heart, gentle spirit and strong work ethic were endearing traits. Though he liked pretty girls and nice clothes, he was wise beyond his years. *I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. Joel 2:25 VICKI
This song was mine and my husband song when we was together n played it on our wedding.i lost him a few yrs ago and it still hurts but I can't stop listening to this song
A true gem! I've always loved B.J. Thomas, and this song brings back great memories of my teenage years back in the 80's. I wish country music was as good now as it was back then.
I gree 100% this song I can't get enough of , it was mine and my husband song, unfortunately I lost him to cancer a couple years ago. We would be 40 yrs strong this year if I hadn't lost him
@@lmpdrp So sorry about the loss of your husband. Losing someone you love is so hard! Take comfort knowing that your husband is in Heaven, and you will see him again someday.
@kelly I agree. When we heard this song he told his friends that this song was written for us and I was the one he wanted to all these things with. I miss him so much, I wish I could tell him one more time how much I love him and what joy he brought to my life
@kelly you are right I have peace of knowing he is in heaven waiting on me. I miss his smile, his laugh and mostly his hugs they always seem to take away the stress. After battling cancer 3 times my self I have decided the next one I will not fight to live. Our son's are grown and are looking at starting their own families and they have been my rock thru all this and they understand how I feel and have accepted that if I get cancer again I won't fight it.
My husband and mine song. This song went to no 1 in 1984 the year my husband and I got married. 40 yrs together 2 sins and still going strong ...rip BJ you will be missed
This song and "new looks from and old lover," are two of BJ's best. I played this on radio, and the first time i played it i knew it would be one of my favorites. Rock on BJ!
Ha How cool is this. I got all of this, 30 yrs to a total babe 3 kids a 50 caddy a 3.5 car garage. To many bills. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Thanks BJ, thanks God. I'm gonna have a Black 55 Chevy someday..... Convertible w/ a 409. oh yah.
Sept 1, 2018: One of the sweetest videos.....leave it to BJ Thomas!!! *Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth: A loving doe, a graceful fawn-may her breasts satisfy you always; may you be captivated by her love forever. Proverbs 5:18
To get a better idea of this video, read B.J.'s 2 books, then watch it again. The books give a lot of insight into his life and explain the video more fully. Enjoy!!
I was wondering the same thing! She looks a lot like Gloria that's for sure! I wish we knew for sure. I have looked and looked and I can't find anything about the making of the video or who is in it with him!
