I mean it´s different tho... here you don´t need to be worried about punches. But let´s be honest, even on those circunstances, that was a dogshit display of "mma bjj".
Dear One, Please don’t make the same mistake as others by putting the fight result in the vid title. Not everyone knows the result already. Many thanks 🙏🏼
it's very much on purpose guys. They know what they're doing, they gaurantee spoiling it to encourage you to buy it, I don't think asking nicely is gonna do the job 😅
Nobody beats the Ruotolo brothers in a scramble. Their ability to consistently find dominant positions is nothing short of incredible! Having a brother who also trains is a gift from God for a combat athlete...
@@rickyr7790 spoken like someone that's never grappled. Trust me, it's combat and your body reacts as if it's combat, and it translates to actual fighting..
Once Kade realized any place they went on the ground was in his favor he just totally engaged and wasn’t worried about sweeps and takedowns and instead was looking for submissions from any even awkward angles. Brilliant.
Interestingly, it's an argument in favour of combat Sambo / Judo over BJJ for street fighting. Because one solid throw on concrete is all it takes to stop a street fight / injure your opponent
It was cool when he was like"damn dude sorry about that ankle" even like pat it to make it feel better. I hope that wasn't some grappler snub that I'm unaware of
It’s good that ONE doesn’t just do MMA, they let the single style have chance to become champions too and make money too instead of saying if you want to come here you have to do MMA to compete
@@seetsamolapo5600 did you understand my question. I’m just saying single have a chance to make money and be champion too including muny thai, bjj, kickboxing and so on. ONE is giving these single style a chance to make money and make a living too. SMH
Sambo retains much of the traditional Judo that got lost a bit with the rise of competition and Olympic Judo being the main focus of dojos. I really love the old school aggressive ground game that Sambo and pre-Olympic Judo uses.
True, but like Rhadi Ferguson said to Lloyd Irvin: "In my world, you lost." If that was concrete, dude would'a been jacked. That's why the Ippon, wins.
I see people talking about Ruotolo going to MMA... The problem there is that a leglock focused game is VERY dangerous when you can punch. We have seen it before. Yes, if they catch it fast they can win with it against really good fighters even.. but if they dont, they tend to get KOed flat. So, might make their career very short. But impressive while it lasts.
That's why MMA is a lot more fun with less rules. Even small changes can kill off a specific defense or attack. Also a reason why I don't like the grappling matches. Especially when people with MMA/different background grapple against pure submission grapplers like it happened before in One. It's just like doing Mayweather vs McGregor in boxing or in MMA. Totally different results because of training experience. But One really wants to push those 2 brothers, so wins are obviously what they're looking for.
The Pace is what killed him..defending submission after submission at such a high tempo is very taxing ...after he got up and got some seperation..he waved Kade to come on..and Kade was in his face before he was even ready...Kade drowned him.
Love all grappling sports man. Im a sambo player and wrestler. And done multiple bjj and judo tournaments. Only criticism i have for people who have not cross competed is. Each sport has its rules and times. Each competitor spends years getting used to those rules. 3 min. 4 mim 5 or 10. What scores what dosnt. What can finish a fight etc etc. I would like to see bjj guys try to do a combat sambo or sport sambo tournaments or judo kosen/ kodokan even freestyle/greco/catch/folk tournament with rules that are designed for those particular sports on this huge platform that will test them too. I always find other martial artists going to bjj on large scale but not otherway round. Just my opinion. Great match by the way. 👊👊.
Absolutely two different sports and different rules, even not close to Sambo ! And nothing strange that one of Twins Win ! But if they roll by Sambo rules, Uali can do same with him !
If the point of this bout is Bjj vs Sambo it should be in GI or have striking. Uali is competing out of his pedigree while Ruotolo is not. They’re both amazing.
I tried to compile a list and historically (and especially recently), Sambo seems to have a very good track record against Jiu-Jitsu in MMA - perhaps since Combat Sambo is much more similar to MMA than modern BJJ (oldschool Jiu-Jitsu did better against Sambo since it was closer to Vale Tudo). A grappling match like this is much more similar to a Nogi BJJ match than a sports Sambo match though.
What does that even mean though? In MMA it's never "this martial art" vs "this martial art." That's why it's called...MIXED Martial Arts. There is no such thing as strictly a Sambo style or a Jiujitsu style in MMA other than rare instances. However in a purely grappling setting, Jiujitsu has dominanted Sambo.
@@vedu8519 hes talking about, that combat sambo is more like mma. So its easier to fight there. Bjj is just grappling so before entering mma you have to train striking. Thats an advantage combat sambo has against bjj. Just talking about that style x vs style y it has a point you can debate about. But like always its not about styles. Its about the individual fighter.
I meant oldschool Gracie Jiu-Jitsu; I did not find a lot of Japanese JJ representatives, except Remco Pardoel if you want to count the European interpretations of Jiu-Jitsu as Japanese JJ. Not sure about Vale Tudo, I'm not aware of any Sambo fighters who competed in Vale Tudo fights or vice versa, but it would be interesting. @@Limemill
I'm no grappler but from MMA fights that I watch, BJJ is superior when it comes to pure grappling and submission. But when there is a mix of striking and slam, I go with Sambo.
What rivalry? How are you supposed to beat a narrow BJJ grappling specialist in a competition that heavily favors a BJJ style of fighting (they don't even have a proper gi to hold on to, otherwise this 0:05 move from Kurzhev would have worked for example). The poor fighter in blue had no chance, it's unfair. It's like pitting a 1200-pound grizzly bear against an alligator in a deep river, when it should have been more like an alligator vs a crocodile. The same match with sambo rules and equipment and Kurzhev would have won. So, for the sake of accuracy the title should have been: Ruotolo vs Kurzhev in a BJJ Match or something in that direction
Dude that was actually awesome had to replay moments sooo many times just to figure out what happened had me looking like a goddamn triple C breakdown the way I was pausin/unpausing just awesome
Ruotolo is the underestimated monster amongst monters. He deserves much more credit and respect than he gets. Many top rated fighters have come against him got embarrassed and these sportscaster try to make it seem as if these other fighters are in the same class - and obviously they are not. Give this man the respect he deserves.👈🏾 He is a Great on his way to G.O.A.T.
I like Kade, but considering this was a BJJ only match i expected him to finish the guy in much less time. The Sambo guy stayed composed and defended the RNS well. Sambo don't do leg locks, so they don't defend well against them. Congratulations on the win Kade.
Sambo is the way of the bear while BJJ is the way of the snake. Sambo wrestlers are trained to be more dominant while BJJ artists are trained to be more technical and dangerous. At the highest levels, BJJ beats Sambo.
Sambo is great. I did combat Sambo. But in grappling no Gi BJJ just feels a little bit superior. I do Catch and BJJ as well. These are incredible arts.
@@234i9 the all around skills and techniques are higher level and more evolved in Jiu jitsu and nogi juijitsu than sambo. Nobody was talking about streetfights.
I train in both COMBAT Jujitsu and COMBAT sambo, along with other styles. All for street application, but we must do the sport aspect also. I have been training for a few years and I am doing ok. But the speed these guys go from position to position, to attack is very impressive.
