I find it very therapeutic to go months and months without listening to Björk, then sit down and listen to like 4 albums in a row and bawl my eyes out. Every time I do it brings something a little different to me. She's so intensely moving, her music means a lot to me.
That’s a great idea! Her music and her voice always makes me feel the same way. *literally* gives me goosebumps. I’ve been listening to so much gangsta rap lately, it’ll be nice to reconnect lol
I feel the opposite. Hearing her feels like all the mystique and magic in the universe is here with us, something that produces someone like her. It’s kinda sad but beautiful at the same time.
@@innerufomaker so true, good music is timeless. It always sounds “fresh“. Which is why it can get almost frustrating to hear people talk about it that way.
Simple, it's because Bjorks art is a living breathing organism it is changing omnipresent with it co-exists with you, it's unfathomable and will never be understood at the time it happens.
When Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé will be forgotten decades ago, people will still listen to this and be amazed by Björk´s talent and the sheer beauty of her music and lyrics.
The fact that you mention their names tells me they won't be forgotten. Also Björk likes Beyonce. Look up Bjork dancing to Crazy in Love! Beyoncé may not be your cup of tea, so YOU can't really speak on where she will be decades from now when you never gave a shit in the first place.
solarge knowles Nope, that´s actually wrong. There were many artists who were famous at their time, but were forgotten later and only academic people know about them today. Sometimes it´s the other way round, like with Vincent van Gogh or H.P.Lovecraft f.e.. Back at their times, almost nobody knew them and respected and admired their work. They died being poor and lonesome. They became famous long after they died and today everybody knows their name. Lady Gaga is certainly a great perfomer and and pretty talented too, but she simply isn´t Björk. There´s something very special about Björks music, she doesn´t only have her own style, but a unique style.
I remember seeing her at a festival in Australia . Everyone was pumped to see her and was eagerly awaiting her arrival. Suddenly out of no where she rushes to the stage and "Earth Intruders" starts belting out. I have never been in a crowd going that ballistic . I'll never forget it . One of my favourite memories .
She was in Primavera Sound here in South America last month and she was literally THE artist that everybody wanted to see even though they weren’t fans. Cuz it’s Björk
She puts so much emotion into her music that it doesn't sound like music it's Art Music bravo Björk bravo. There's a few artists in this planet that have so much talent and she's part of them. Her unique music must be cherished
An artist at the peak of her art. Everything is close to perfect, the musicians, the vocals, her delivery. If there is anybody in doubt as why she had to leave the Sugarcubes, here you can witness why.
I hardly revisit bjorks most popular but some hard times require classics to go through. Literally today I cried from feeling loveless, then I remembered this song existed
jamesdeansghost55 I almost cried at the first 3 utopia songs she played live and It’s my least favourite album. If she’d had played this, joga, hunter, play dead etc. I’d have drowned everyone in tears lol
Bjork, lo más hermoso que me pasó en la vida jaja. Lo que daría por estar en ese momento en ese concierto. Lo vi cien mil veces y todavía me pone la piel de gallina
Oh my, why have I never been to a Bjork concert? I hope I still have a chance. Everyone should go at least once in their life. She’s so beautiful and unique. No one else is better to watch live on stage. Pure raw talent.
To call this performance beautiful is SUCH an understatement! This is beyond any and everything pronounceable! This is as HIGH as music and art can take one!
I was at this performance and I remember leaving that night a different person. No other artist has reached me on such an emotional level before or since. True magic.
I've only just realized this after listening to the song a hundred times, but if you listen carefully, 02:40 ~ 02:46 is a loop of the previous 6 seconds. It also explains why that segment is shown in slow motion.
I don't understand why she makes me cry the way she does. Just looking at her face can bring me to tears. It feels like I know her while having never met her. It's confusing.
As many other people, Bjork is the alone artist that moves me to the tears. This song is one of these that shakes me each time. She is a pure talent for sure.
Saw Bjork at ACL 6 or 7 years ago. one of the single best performances I have ever seen. The speaker caught on fire in the middle of the set. They ushered her an the band off stage. When they came back out she says, in this adorable voice "Our speaker went on fire, did you see?" the whole crowd "AWWWED". It was great.
Words can't describe her performance. This left me speechless, and also shed some tears. Her words & music enlighten my soul. Its just amazing. Thank you very much for sharing this! Thank you Bjork for making unbelievable music. You helped me through many things. "All is full of love" ♡
"We are not alone in the universe. She is the proof of it." O' how so true tis the statement above! Listening to this song transports me to interstellar dimensions!
From the far distant planet Bjork is from, somehow a woman can hit and hold a note for 15-18 seconds in pitch, and I had to go back and check that three times to be sure. Whether you even like her as an avant garde singer and artist, that is some real talent on display in this song.
+roninreturns While Bjork is indeed an amazing performer, that long note is digitally extended. If you listen carefully you can hear that it is actually a shorter note repeated four times, and if you watch the hairs blowing on her head you can see that the video is being played in slow-mo. None of this detracts from Bjork, but this in particular is a very skillful edit.
I want to hear this live more than just about anything in life but I know it"ll never live up to how alive she was the night she recorded this. Its the greatest live performance ive ever heard.
This is a beautiful song with a beautiful message. Its an alruistic reminder to society that all is full of love and those who know can remind those who don't.
Watching this for the 10th time today, have probably watched this performance 100 times over the years! This is by far my favorite performance of this masterpiece! From her voice, to her look, to the crowd! It was definitely special!
I'm going through a really rough time at the minute and i literally can't watch this without tearing up....one of the most beautifully heartbreaking performances ever
