Yh same my dad got me the one with the high top but I was just a normal person wanting a new pair of shoes for school not knowing about this reputation and also I’m not Dangerous.I’m sweet like sugar ❤️
I grew up in a South London council estate in the 80s through the 90s. I also had the same experience 😂. Also Reebok classics and later the Air Max 95s were the road mans fav shoes
I have black Air Force 1s but I don’t do dangerous stuff like I mostly wear them just for the looks not to look like a criminal I’d rather be a chill person than a criminal
@@NachoAverageFindsthere’s a lot of history for docs. Went from being for working men like cops and or mailmen, then ska and reggae took the look and then skinheads ended up using them for the symbol of working class, and after all that through the 70’-90’s in the 2000’s it became a design brand just like any other brand and are terrible. They barley hold up past a year if you wear every day, unless you get made in England docs which aren’t really being sold anymore. Solovairs is another company that was licensed under them in the 80’s-90’s and have the same design and hold up way longer.
Growing up for me, it was any all black basic shoe gave you some type of superpower. This one kid used to wear black reebok And he was the fastest kid in the school ( I know it's not the shoe). I only met one kid who wore black AF1, we called em Hammer and when he played Football no one wanted to play. Lol
This is a good one. I haven’t Swooshed for years, but the last two pairs I owned were a triple white pair and a triple black pair of Dookies (that’s what we called them in the day. ✌🏽💙👟
Me who got searched and questioned by the police the day I went to pick up my 1st pair of the black air forces, trust me I didn't believe until now lol being 6,4 and getting black air forces triggered their loitering radar 😂
Remember having a pair in high school to go with my uniform, cause we had a dress code and everyone had a pair and they seemed much more comfortable than dress shoes.
I wore em cause my mom was like I aint washing any white shoes just to only get them yellow and not white again. So I got the black ones and I liked the black ones over white af1
Black uptowns/af1 always been my fav. I remember i quit wearin them for a couple years and shitt like that, on top of that i couldnt find em for a min. I remember i got this fit and wanted them bitches so bad i went to the mall and jitt talm bout "we only sell them around holloween" 🤦🏿♂️🤔🤔hmmmm 😂😂. Dats dem doe kickas
It’s associated w low income households… parents can’t afford a lot of shoes so they get one pair and has to last a long time. Easy to clean so easy to keep a while. Low income means less structure in the house, prob a single parent. The kid ends up being bad… so black forces are a way to fit in with an iconic shoe.
Multiplayer idea: have 2 people in a team with the same fighter jet with restrictions and have 1 other person as the enemy create a fighter thats tougher, stronger, faster, and better in general.
The cheesy reputation has always been a factor in me never owning a pair. Why tf would I want a shoe that immediately starts getting me labeled? I wear Nashoba Timbs with a composite toe. They are way too good at curb stomping, but the difference is nobody looks at me differently for wearing them.
Really what I think it comes from is the fact that because it’s all black, people are not afraid to crease them or get them dirty. Like those kids at school for example, even if they had just gotten those new shoes, they would just not care about doin whatever unlike people who wore white air forces who try to keep em clean and uncreased. Also I ain’t never seen a burglar wear all white have you? 😂
Whenever you guys find the time can you make a history of Nike roshe run since apparently Nike is bringing them back later this year which is surprising.
Love the AF1, hate the lace charm. The first thing I always do is ditch that thing. And it's funny how the black AF1s look just a little less bad-ass with those little trinkets looking so precious on them.
If you need to separate the difference in ppl who are just wearing those & who actually have that energy…..the next characteristic of someone with true black Air Force energy is how beat the shoe look & if the person has yellow or red eyes and may smoke cigarettes and black & milds while wearing a dusty tank top or stretched out shirt & anyone who goes by the name Black
There is a reason, when the Air Force 1s first came out (i forget what year I’m high rn) all the west coast gangsters used to rock those and some Gucci shoes wile slinging dope
Helppp 💀 like half of my school (and me) wear these as regular school shoes with our uniform cs the teachers dont say anything about it + they look amazing with our uniform so why not? Lmfao
Black colored sneakers like non slip restaurant shoes and are used for regular use but the same sneaker in white looks better with dressier clothes and to be treated like a porcelain doll. Literally night and day. It's crazy
I don't remember seeing anyone wear these at school, back in the 80s n 90s. But then again, I am in the uk. Bad boys here would wear the nike air max classic bw or the max 90.
