Thank you so much for posting this video. I just purchased one and it said to read the instruction manual before operating it BUT the cheap buggers didn't put a manual in the box. You site saved me a lot of headaches.

I have the same drill and like it a lot! Had mine for about 4 years, the only difference is mine has the charger where you have to disconnect the battery and slide it in the charger. Had a Black and decker before that too, only reason i needed a new one was my last one fell and broke the button to switch drill direction. Great review!

I tried that but it was too tight to turn and i know i was doing it right. I have used them before and a matter of fact i just returned a different brand with the same problem thinking there was something wrong with it now i see it was just tight. If i could break it loose then maybe it would work right. Any ideas?
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 6 лет назад
If you can’t turn it open with your hands try using channel lock pliers, Or any players that you can hold both and turn it will give you more leverage. My mom used to have a thing when I was a kid that was round and rubber and used it to open really tight jars. I know they still have them.Maybe Walmart. Mine was tight but I got it open with my hands.

I just got mine today and the chuck is too hard to turn and i noticed yours is real loose. I know I'm doing it right but it's too tight. Was yours tight when you first got it and how to loosen up?
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 6 лет назад
You need to loosen the Chuck. It is a keyless chuck so what you do is hold the black grip that is next to the gray part where you put in the drill bit securely, and turn the grey part of the drill to the left.That will loosen it up, and then put in your drill bit and doing the same thing but turn it to the right instead of the left. I’m not good at explaining things on paper so if you don’t understand what I mean let me know 😊

After I got mine the first thing I did was charge it. The only thing I didn't like that the light didn't go out or turn green to let me know if it was completely charged or not. Is this normal. I didn't want to over charge it so I unplugged it. I'm a newbie.

+Wenli Wang It's a mason bit I bought at the hardware store, I needed it to drill through a brick wall. Yes this drill will do that! I also bought a whole set for a steal at Ross. You can get it at Walmart. It also has 4 mason bits, and it's 100 something pieces. If you have Twitter I can send you a pic of the set.

I'd like to ask you; My drill was purchased about 10 years ago (no red/green indicator lights either). Mine is with the 24v charger with the drill also being 24v which have both in my basement, unused for 5 years....that's a LOONG time...lol. After 10 minutes on the charger, the drill already works. How long should I charge it for? Thanks, 20+ Years, US Navy (Aircraft Carriers), Retired.

when are you going to make a longer lasting battery like a lithium battery that will fit the regular firestorm drills and the finish nailers. I have bought two new ones and they don't keep a charge as long as the batteries I bought in 2007 whats up??????
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 8 лет назад
+Chris Scovitch they have the exact same drill with a lithium battery at Walmart or wherever you usually go. I drilled screws for my TV mount on my brick wall through the brick itself with this drill. When you first get it you have to let it charge for 9 hours. Make sure you don't have the battery connected to the drill when you are not using it. It is a nickel cadmium battery they do not hold full charges. I charge mine for an hour before I go to use it so it doesn't die while I'm using it. It's all about what you want to pay for the lithium drill I mentioned is over twice as much

Just bought this drill today after my dads 30 year old drill failed and I plugged it in to charge but I don't see the indicator light that is mentioned in the paper instructions so I have no idea of it's actually charging. Please help!
@CastIronCooking
@CastIronCooking 6 лет назад
+Britt Herbeck there is no indicator light but it is charging. Charger for eight or nine hours whatever the instructions say before you use it the first time and it will last a lot longer. You will be able to tell if it's working by the sound when you turn on the drill. It will be loud at the end of charging. After that initial charge I usually charge it for three hours .hope that helps!

Roodog Gonebush It's awesome! That TV, in my living room, was put up with that drill, I had to drill through the brick part, of a concrete wall, and it held up. Took a while, because it's battery powered, and I didn't have a plug in drill. Still handles like brand new. I trust the brand, so did my Dad. I hope there was a commercial, on it, it's really popular, and gets a lot of worldwide views, which is good. I always wondered if you would get, a commercial, for your country, or America!

I just found one at Goodwill going for 13 bucks that has “2009” date stamp. I believe this uses NiCad batteries. But after my experience with my Black & Decker pivot vacuum’s (which I otherwise loved) niCad batteries, I’m going to pass. Unlike most cordless power drills at Goodwill, this has the battery pack and the charger with it. So if you have patience with NiCad batteries, and you’re anywhere near the Redmond Washington goodwill on October 8, 2022, come on down and you’re welcome to it. Maybe, I’ll get one with lithium batteries.

So yeah… If you were looking at a cordless drill then you should know what a cordless drill can and can’t do. So spread the word to your friends that Stanley/Black & Decker owns Dewalt.If a cordless drill that can drill into solid brick walls and still work well, is not good enough for you then of course you should buy a drill with a cord and also a very long extension cord. The only thing I can suggest is I wish I would’ve bought there lithium battery version of this drill.Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate you!*
