The same reason I always love the first book/movie in any series - no drama, no emotional or mental distress, just introducing the characters and telling their first caper, can’t beat it

Unfortunately, the creator and actor that plays Bernard, Dylan Moran has pretty much hated any ideas about making a continuation and has said that he never wants to do a studio sitcom again.

@@Materminds187 That’s what you should do though, make the best stuff and then leave it. Most of the great British sitcoms knew when to stop - Father Ted stopped at three, IT Crowd had four and then a special, Porridge was three, Fawlty Towers was only two, Bottom was three. No disrespect to other sitcoms (Red Dwarf is one of my personal favs, Only Fools is obviously iconic) but because they went on so long they undeniably had their rough patches.

I discovered the series in RU-vid recommendations back in late summer of 2013.

He wasn't trying not to laugh. He was maintaining a face he was pulling at his boss behind his back and continuing to do it in front of him to make it seem normal
