'Basic Meals for the Ultra Rich' and 'Pet Surprise' are books and shows that we can all agree we have seen some form or other.

Knowing dylan moran was a writer of the show honestly makes me think he had an entire room of kids stare blankly at him in shock before pointing at one and saying "Yes he's perfect"

Watching this episode again after years has made me realize really what an existential horror Black Books really is. We're watching a drunk angry Irishman slowly destroy his life and alienate every friend and loved one he has until he probably "dies alone, upside down on the floor of a pub toilet".

My favourite episode. Bernard is the friend you avoid and definitely never let in you house. Fran's the neurotic woman you try not to meet. Manny is sweet but should avoid caffeine at all costs.

My neighbor stumbled over to my house wanting more vodka, but passed out on my couch-so I went to bed. I woke up to this loud banging. He was standing in the corner of my living room facing the wall and pissing just like he was at a urinal and slapping the wall... When I said "What the hell!" he was stunned to see me! He was so drunk he had NO IDEA where he was. Also, I had kept one sentimental beer from the wake of a friends dad in the fridge for years. He would come over just to talk and visit me, a great old guy. I kept one just so if his ghost ever wanted to visit... He drank that too and didn't remember any of it lol.

Bailey is a comedic genius.

The things you could say on a sitcom in the 90s in the Uk was a good bit funnier than the US at the time. Tim Allen would have never been able to sit on himself in home improvement. Priceless stuff here

And a side note: I find this series much more deep and insightful and as well as much more funny then most people😅 because, I see the different nuances of comedy from each of the characters. Like Manny makes me laugh after all these years just by saying: "Sat on myself!" 😂😂😂😂 And same with Bernard just saying: "Hey Gamdalf!" 😂😂😂😂 Both huge comedians and their totally different views and styles of comedy, even though the total difference!, hits me right on the spot and makes me laugh out loud 😂😂😅😅☺️☺️

This is one of the reasons I started watching The Sweeney starring John Thaw (of Insp Morse) and Dennis Waterman (plays "Carter").

From Australia , we have had all The Great British Comedies over the Years On Australian Broadcasting Channel the ABC or Aunty of the BBC. They are Just Great . Manny ( Bill Bailey ) the Sweeney . Hilarious .

There are SO many story lines and jokes taken from Seinfeld, both in Black Books and The IT Crowed. Still, I love both of those shows a lot cause they bring lots of original stuff and the humor is way different then the American style.

I love Bill Bailey I wish he was my dad ☺️❤️☺️ He's joyful in real life too, his stand ups shows it. Like Manny in real life 😅 I envy his positivity 😊 And Dylan Moran is like real life Bernard 😂😂 I love them both ❤ I wish I was the third person their shop 😅 I feel very nostalgic 😭 Bernard would yell at me, Manny would try to be a helpful, couraging big brother and defend me against Bernard. I would know Bernard has a big heart inside and wouldn't mind his loud personality 😅 Manny and I would put a joke cigarettes in his pockets whenever he annoyed us 😅😅 I wrote all that jokingly of course but they helped me go through highschool and I will always be grateful to them for it and feel in debt to them ☺️ I was feeling like the third one when I was in highschool, but it's like I was watching them from the corner laughing😅 People don't get some things like comedy and making people feel at home, accepted, part of something. Being among people in same mindset... Or worldview... Whatever you call it... Some people loath comedians or actors and actresses. But they don't know how they impact people on a positive way. Some people get over depression thanks to them. Or cancer, or suicide... So, if Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey, Tamsin Greig, if you one day read this comment, know that you saved manny lives and know that manny people are grateful to you including me ☺️
