How hilarious if they were together. It just be 2 people talking at each other,no questions, just 2 people talking over each other oblivious the other person is talking 😅
well it’s a big huge jungle and there’s hundreds of thousands of people there. And he wasn’t saying it hasn’t actually happened, but saying that only he himself by his own one self does not know of anyone. He was not over generalizing he was speaking about only his own personal experience. I’d be willing to bet somebody in the world at some time or another time has been eaten or attacked by a caiman crocodile. but of course, i myself have never been there and have not tried to find out by my own one self
Seeing Lex talk about and relive his experiences around real life actual monsters is the most emotive ive ever seen him. I love that almost every human that has been around pure unapologetic nature is simultaneously bewildered and scared shitless. Just imagine, how would we react to complex alien life, not even necessarily sentient life, just animals on a different planet? Think about how frightening, yet astonishing that would be. If aliens have, or ever will, discover this planet, what will they think about shit like black caimans, great whites, anacondas/pythons, etc. I like to think that our wild animals are just as crazy as we imagine alien animals to be.
Funny how you're saying that when a few minutes later Lex shows footage of him catching a Caymen in the river further proving there's no reason for him to lie. I guess the footage is faked tho, right...
@@Murphys_Law9 most snakes that might get that big live in really underdeveloped places where they can feed on whatever they come across. Bigger prey sometimes means bigger predator. I seen one about as big as he referred to. At a zoo in Florida when I was a kid. I don’t have a picture but it was huge. I guess the rhino we saw before that also didn’t piss on my tire cause I didn’t take a picture.
@@Murphys_Law9I guess my uncle also didn’t put raw meat in the back of his el Camino and the lions didn’t jump in the bed cause he didn’t have a picture. I bet you don’t have a brain cause you never took a picture of your brain.
black suit Tarzan! uhhhhh ohhhh we ohhhhh ohhhhh wee ohhhhhhhhh! Did you get that Tarzan reference?😂 that’s what Tarzan would scream as he would swing through the jungle on the vines
For the most part they are shy, but make no mistake, my friend went on a fishing trip and while with the net on the river a black caiman rushed in and bit him, it held him for 30min while 2 others tried to get it off. He lost his arm and was rushed to the hospital nearly dying in the process
broh, i love Creedence and I totally get what you mean! Creedence’s songs having been used in many a Vietnam/ jungle hollywood movie setting whilst the characters in the movie are entering into an adventure in the jungle, you know, before it all goes to crap and the movie music changes to more ominous😂
Paul has to be one of my favorite people to ever hit the podcast circuits because he walks the walk.. after seeing him for the first time last year or so I immediately bought the book Mother of God.
No, adults. All throughout their later life cycle, but not hatchling or juvenile, to small and fast when they're that young. Jaguar DO NOT GIVE A FUCK, SON ! And they will absolutely crush that Diapsid double finestra skull.
Wait, captivating to say the least-but no video footage of these mesmerizing encounters-in 2024 ? It makes sound like Greek mythology or something biblical or quranic.
it’s a weakness of our modern times that we have gotten to the point where even though somebody is in fact doing an actual thing, we have the tendency to not believe it if no video or pictures exist. Dude has plenty of videos of and pics doing the actual stuff. Maybe not this one particular thing however.
There's no way a jaguar is messing with an adult black caiman, all the videos you see of jaguars attacking caimans are just juveniles or yacare caimans.
lol yah but I suspect he’s probably just exhausted from all their trekking through the jungle. Would make sense to be physically tired after some jungle expeditions but you still gotta do the podcast. No doubt it’s normal for humans to appear high or slightly aloof when we are simply physically exhausted
a equivalent to tanks are bugs. A Croc or Alli is like a hydraulic press. I somehow believe that those animals somewhat cook their food by the pressure that their jaw build.
I remember returning from the river to our hut and seeing all the locals standing around. As we got closer we saw they had killed a black caimen about 12-13 feet long and super fat. The little tributary and river is where we had been swimming hours earlier. Supposedly they're more mild than other alligators or crocs, but it didnt' make me feel any better. This was about 30 miles outside of Iquitos.
Wolves are thriving in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In fact, there is a bill in the US House of Representatives requiring them to be taken off the endangered species list and return management to the states they reside in. Like Wisconsin and Minnesota in addition to Michigan. I cannot wait because I have seen them frequently. They have even been in my yard. All the small mammals in my area have literally disappeared over the last decade in addition to dwindling the deer population. Everything is currently out of balance.
If you're going to own a large apex predator, you absolutely have to establish dominance early on. I had a tiger cub, and to demonstrate my power, I put it's head in a hydraulic press. Unfortunately he passed on 😢 due to complications. But he definitely knew who was alpha in our relationship.
For Christ's sake, thank you!! I wrote the same thing. "How can you call them Apex!? Jaguars prey on them all throughout their life cycle!". I get to hung up on "proper" shit sometimes, but how can you expect someone to take your content seriously, when you can't get that right? Would you listen to N.D.T. if he called our Sun a "Super Massive Star"?
@@Cody38Super Eh, Jags eat the smaller caiman species like the spectacled… the black Caiman is a monster and is the Apex predator, a Jag wouldn’t even dream of messing with a large adult… 16ft+
I'm sure the otters had some fun in their task, but I tend to think it was as much a lesson to the Caiman, it's them letting that dumb reptile know that we ain't food. That this is OUR territory and if you want some more we got all you want. Dolphins do it to Sharks, they'll start battering a shark from all angles and the shark can't get out of there fast enough. The dolphins may enjoy it to some degree, but they don't go out of their way to do it. Otters aren't suicidal, sure they're faster, quicker, and smarter, but fucking with a caiman just for fun seems dumb. The risk/reward playing with what is essentially a dinosaur that survived seems more risk than reward. But what do I know?
This guy is so hard to listen too😮💨 I love nature and animals and listening to stories about animal encounters and deep excursions into the wild but this guy.. I just can’t. Am I alone?
