@@baka825 I still really like it, but after having rewatched it recently, I think nostalgia carried it pretty hard in my heart. There are definitely legitimate complaints to be made, but overall I still think it's a good anime with good plot (specifically good plot in the first half, second half it started getting out there)

the anime isn't that great cuz the last few parts were so unnecessary i wished they followed the manga's plotline since it's Miles better though credit where credit is due; the first few episodes right before Saya dies is really, REALLY good

For all the people saying serious Train was better, this is why I like the manga better. Train started off childish and the most we got of serious Train was flashbacks, so the character felt more organic rather than "blink and he's different". Plus the anime's ending was weird

He was always going to head down this path after he started encountering Saya. After her death the mental shock of losing someone he found out he cared about so much changed him. Have you noticed he now acts EXACTLY like Saya did. As for his clothes, its the same thing. Saya wore a Kimono for no reason other than the fact that she liked it. It wasn't practical or helpful, it just was there. His new clothes reflect his new style.

Loved the manga, wish the anime did it better justice towards the end. I come back to this OP every once in a while so I think it's probably one of my favorites from the last decade, and I don't ever remember falling in love with this song back then either.

If you have searched for this, it REALLY means you watched anime/read manga before 2010's era. This is the sort of production (Black Cat, Chrno Crusade, D.N.Angel, etc...) very 2000 based that you won't be heard of anymore, unless from your memories or the people in the same situation's memories. The saddest part is the otaku from now don't know about them and don't even want to have anything with productions from the past...

I've got to admit, I would have loved to see more of serious Train. It would have been entertaining to see how Sven and Eve dealt with him. However, I can also understand why he began to act more childish. Based on his flashbacks, after his parents were killed, he didn't really get to have much of a childhood. This was his chance to live as he wanted to, and I guess it was more fun for him to be childish. Either way, Train was an amazing main character and I'll always love Black Cat!

PS, Train's Chronos coat in the manga is SO much cooler than the anime one, lol! You can actually see the manga Chronos coat during this song, like during the opening, when it shows Train vs Creed, they're wearing their manga Chronos uniforms!! :D

But that kind of character can be really amazing when done right. My favorite character of all time is a serious guy who has people following him. Besides, he wasn't really the leader of their group. The bounty hunter guy (sorry, forgot his name) was more of a leader than Train was.

The manga is 100x better than the anime. If you haven't read it, I highly suggest you do! But that being said, I LOVE the anime. I think it's good his personality changed, cause it was like was letting loose after Saiya (which is what happened, I guess), BUT, they made his personality change WAY too fast, it was like one episode he's all grumpy, the quiet cool type character, then the next, he's this energetic whiny kid-type character, lol, they should've made him loosen up slower

+Tempest Tornado Yes. It's more of a shonen altough the manga does have some hardcore shit in it but it's nowhere near as seinen as Darker than Black. You were making a joke about the color anyway.
